 KN-6 Femur Nailing System

Introduction

The KN-6 Femur Nailing System is an authentic approach for the

fixation of distal femur fractures. This nailing system is a
combination of femoral nails, locking screws and end caps. This
system favors minimum invasive surgery that reduces intra-
operative risks during surgical treatment. Pre-anatomically
contoured Nails are being designed depending on the fracture
patterns. Both locking and fixation work in parallel way to fix
femur fractures. This nail is specially design for retrograde
approach.

KN-6 Femur Naling System implants are made of Titanium

Alloy as per ISO 5832-3 and ASTM F136 and Stainless Steel
as per ISO 5832-1 and ASTM F138 The material used are
biocompatible, corrosion-resistant and non-toxic in a biological
environment.
KN-6 Femur Naling System Instruments are made of stainless
steel as per ASTM F899

Locking Method:

Static Locking:

Static method is being done in osteoponic bones and locks

fragmented bone in proper alignment. The 5mm Locking screw
helps in angular bone stabilization and improves the clinical
outcomes. Static locking is done to a greater extent to stabilize
plate and bone contact in distal femur and proximal multi-
fractured bones.

Dynamic Locking:

Dynamic locking helps in good cortical bone fixation in

proximal and distal complex fractures, non-unions. Locking
screw provides proper space and allows axial bone movement
during surgical treatment.

Nail Fixation:

End Caps

• End cap create fixed angle construct by safely locking the

proximal locking bolts (screws).
• Reduce the risk of tissue-ingrowth and also faciitate in the
nail extraction.
• Hex-Head recess for easy End cap pick up and insertion.
• End cap sits flush with the nail and provides optimum
stabilization

Locking Bolts

• Self-Tapping tip allows easy translation of screws into the

bone.
• Secure pickup and holding through Hex-head recess.
• The locking screw diameter is 5.0mm.

Indications:

Femoral System is indicated for:

1. The distal femur fractures in 33-A1 /A2 /A3

and 33-C1 /C2 /C3.1

2. Femoral Nail is indicated for fractures in the

femoral shaft: 32-A /B /C (except 32-A [1-3].)
and 32-B [1-3].1
