Dragon Empires, there is one lesser goddess of great importance
to him. Lady Jingxi, the Poet of Dawn and Dusk, is Hei Feng’s
estranged wife. She is usually portrayed as a gentle, lovely tengu
lady dressed in white and wearing a white lotus in her feathers.
Hei Feng speaks of Lady Jingxi with operatic longing, but he
doesn’t really wish to reconcile (nor does she, since he was a
thoughtless husband). However, his sentiments extend to his
followers, who are expected to honor Lady Jingxi’s shrines and
worshippers with far more respect than Hei Feng demands for
himself.

magic when used to target magically created storms. Finally, a
smaller group of the faithful believe the spell Silence to be an
insult to Kaishun. While this is not a taboo, these faithful view it
as distasteful all the same.

Endorsed magic
Faithful of the Duke of Thunder appear to enjoy loud or
destructive spells most of all. Almost every member of the faith
capable of casting spells is familiar with at least one spell that
deals electricity damage, one that deals sonic damage, and one
that directs the wind. The spell "Gust of Wind" is most popular
and widespread among the faith.

TEMPLES AND SHRINES

Shrines to the Duke of Thunder are few and far between,
however when the faithful's wanderings brought them to the inner
sea region, they found need of more diversity for both the
environment, and the people they found themselves among.
Home shrine
The simplest shrines to Hei Feng are small collections of
chemicals and paper with a relightable torch. The faithful soak
the paper in the chemicals and dance while it dries. Once dried, a
small prayer is written on the paper as it is folded into a small
cylinder, which is burnt from one end. The multicolored fire lifts
the prayer into the air where it dissolves in a flashing, wind-born
offering to the duke of thunder.

COUNCILERS
Tacca(CG Female Vishkanya Occultist 4) loves to hear the tales
of adventures and storms from fellow Hei Fengans, and will
eagerly transform these stories into poems and songs to share as
prayers. She likes to imagine herself as a grounding force,
helping equal out the unrestrained and over-excitable nature of
her fellow Hei Fengans, much as the Poet of Dawn and Dusk
herself did for the Duke of Thunder.
Teodor(CG Male Coldborn Beastkin Cavalier 2) enjoys the
thought that he is among the more civilized of the faithful of the
Duke of Thunder. While only new to his quest, Teodor seeks to
change the perception of the faith of Hei Feng and help others to
see the nuances hidden in his lord.
Juppo Motchul(CG Male Tengu Investigator 2) is a tall, slender
tengu man who is seen by many in his community as the town
drunk. Many people recommend avoiding him when he's
hungover, due to his seemingly irritable nature. In this state, he's
most often found in random gardens around the village, plucking
out small weeds and collecting random insects. What most don't
realise however, is that Juppo does not drink alcohol. His
drunken ramblings and dances are prayers to the Duke of
Thunder, for the protection of the community, and his
"hangovers" are a convenient excuse for people to avoid him
while he cleans various gardens and protects the crops of the
local tea plants.
Vorca(CN Male Uhlam Halfling Occultist 10) is a middle aged
halfling who lives on the outskirts of his small fishing village.
His home is surrounded by tea plants, which he's well known for
selling the harvest from for his essentials. Most visitors to town
stay at his home instead of any other estate in town, where they
report a strange schedule of peaceful hours of meditation,
reading, and gardening, offset by short stints of overly energetic
painting or unnervingly dangerous whittling. It is Vorca's opinion
that the peace of civilization requires an outlet for the dangerous
animalistic nature of all.
WRITHING SEAS
Pair Goqo(CE Genderfluid Tengu Sorcerer 6/Alchemist 8) is a
known member of the Besmaran pirate ship "The Catfish" and is
believed to be the ships master gunner. A slightly insane tengu
originally believed to be an evoker, it's now assumed that Pair has
simply learned how to harness their destructive bloodline for the
augmentation of spells in ship-to-ship combat and the
development of alchemical ammunition for seige weaponry. One
of the few things known for certain about them beside their name
is the habit of singing the events of a battle as prayers to Hei
Feng.
