Overcoming objections
Objection: “I am trying to decide between the new HP DeskJet GT 5810/5820 All-in-One and the Epson L series
for the best ink tank printer for my small business. What are the advantages of the HP DeskJet GT 5810/5820
over the Epson L series?”
Response: The HP DeskJet GT 5810/5820 has several advantages over the Epson L series:
• Spill-free system: Filling tanks can be messy with Epson’s open bottle design. If ink gets on your hands,
clothes, or desk it can be a big mess. HP’s easy-to-use, spill-free system has a seal inside the cap opening so
that it will never drip, even when the bottle is upside down with the cap cover off.3 Plus, HP transparent ink
tanks make it easy to see when you need to add ink.
• Replaceable printhead: The Epson L has a permanent printhead, so problems like blocked nozzles may
require a printer service and cleaning. This means if not resolved with a self-cleaning, you will have to send
the product away for repair which could take days or weeks. The HP product has replaceable print heads,
making it easy for you to quickly snap in the new printheads and get back to business.2
• Copy quality: In testing, the Epson L color density faded with repeated copying; HP produced better copy
quality up to the third copy of the original. Epson’s dye-based black inks tend to fade more quickly and are
not water-resistant.12 Original HP pigment-based black inks deliver crisp, black text that smears less and is
water-resistant.4
• Color saturation: Epson’s copied printout is lighter with faded colors. In testing, HP produced more vibrant
color saturation over Epson L and offered better print quality. HP edges out Epson with slightly brighter
color.12
• Less ink use for servicing and no absorbent ink pad change: The Epson L product uses more ink for servicing
the printheads and has an absorbent ink pad that needs to be changed by an Epson qualified service
representative. HP uses less ink for servicing the printheads and has a small absorbent ink pad that never
needs to be changed over the rated lifetime of the product which means more productivity and less potential
down-time.12
• Faster print times with HP: In testing, the Epson L series was slower to print a color image in best mode (HP 3
minutes and 30 seconds; Epson 5 minutes and 40 seconds).12

time, and the user must wait until priming is complete before printing.12 Plus, Original HP inks are specially
formulated to work with the all-in-one to help ensure that printing is simple and reliable, so you get amazing
