SCIN D I A
Organized by
THE SCINDIA SCHOOL, FORT, GWALIOR
In Association with
MP CHESS AD-HOC Committee
Venue: THE SCINDIA SCHOOL CAMPUS
Gwalior Fort, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
The Scindia School was founded by the late Maharaja Madho Rao Scindia of
Gwalior in 1897. School was renamed as, "The Scindia School", in 1933, as it
evolved into a public school with a Board of Governors, presently headed by
HH Maharaja Jyotiraditya M Scindia , scion of Scindia family and Honorable
Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel.
The School with its unique location, atop the historic Gwalior Fort, is a
residential school with a difference. The ramparts of the Fort have witnessed
history unfold: Tatya Tope’s troops battling the British, and the Rani of Jhansi
breathing her last in her final assault. A casual glance out of a classroom
window may well find eyes resting on an exquisite sixth century temple,
adorned with bas-reliefs.
Dear Participant ,
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Scindia Cup FIDE Rated Rapid
Open International Chess Tournament. The tournament is one of its kind and hails as
the precursor to an internationally rated tournament first time in history of Gwalior.I
hope that it will enable the chess participants to get a taste of the competitions of
international stature in Chess.
SHRI AJAY SINGH The sport teaches us to seize the day. It teaches us to think out of the box and tackle real
Principal, Scindia School life problems with a practical and unwavering mindset. With this thought in mind the
