1. A study was conducted to compare the effects of ad types (corporate social responsibility
(CSR) and sex appeal (SA)) on people’s attitude toward the firm. There were 4
conditions, with 100 people being assigned at random to each condition (there were a
total of 400 people in the study). The 4 conditions were:

1: CSR ad only

2: CSR ad + SA1 ad

3: CSR ad + SA2 ad

4: CSR ad + SA3 ad

a. Complete the following ANOVA table (the overall mean is 58).

b. Is a post hoc test necessary for this analysis? If yes, do it.
2. Pretend that you measure how long and how satisfied your friends in class spend their
time sleeping each day (hour). Take a sample of 40 people and the result is same as you
generate in R with this code:

- Replace NIM with your last four digits of identification number in IPB
- Replace A with your last digit of identification number in IPB + 1
- Replace B with a digit of number you choose (between 1 and 9)
- Replace C with (A+B)/2

a. X1 represents how long your friends spent sleeping each day. X2 represents the
satisfaction rate of their sleep duration. From the scatter plot in the last line code,
what insight would you tell?
b. If a researcher told you that your friends are satisfied with their sleep duration
(with satisfaction rate more than 50%), would you believe him?
