SUMMARY

The study Depusoy et.al (2020) assessed the effectiveness of e-banking service
of universal banks in the Philippines. The banking business is heavily reliant on modern
technology, with online banking adoption expanding over time. With the ability to
execute a wide range of financial services electronically, banks may now improve the
efficiency of their operations. This has improved accessibility, ease of use, and cost-
effectiveness of client transactions and company. With 72% of bank customers in the
USA and 76% of households in the UK utilizing online banking, the number of
transactions has increased dramatically. Each year, internet banking services are used
to trade billions of pesos in the Philippines. However, in order to preserve client
happiness, banks must continue to expand their websites and address concerns like
technical acceptability, features, trust factors, ease, and security.
. The study involved 396 respondents from three Universal Banks in Ortigas
Center, located within the boundaries of Pasig, Mandaluyong and Quezon City which
offers five (5) types of electronic Banking Facility Services namely; Online Banking,
Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), Mobile Banking and
Phone Banking. The result conveyed that the respondents mostly aged 26-33, single,
with a bachelor's degree, viewed electronic banking to be extremely successful in terms
of convenience, security, fees, charges, and dependability, while also being effective in
terms of accessibility and speed. Furthermore, it was discovered in the study that
educational attainment greatly affected the efficacy of electronic banking facilities,
implying that people with greater educational attainment had considerably better
standards when it concerned security and reliability. The speed and reliability of
electronic banking services were also scored differently by respondents, with new
clients being more sensitive to these characteristics. The researchers also suggest that
e-banking install more e banking channels should provide easier access, continuous
technical training and support to responsible departments, promotional strategies for
distribution of information, constantly send updates for security awareness, safety
measures should always be present and conduct regular surveys.
