Title Data Mining Regression Model:
The Influence of Learning Motivation on Student Discipline Level Journal Computer Engineering – Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto Volume & Page Vol. 1 No.1-4 Year 2010 Writer Hindayati Mustafidah Reviewer Michael Ngefak (18120084) Date Oct 21th 2023 Research Goal The main objective of this research is to serve as one of the developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which has been particularly emphasized in the business context in Indonesia. In this study, the data mining process regarding the influence of motivation on the level of student discipline in higher education institutions is explored. It is assumed that higher levels of motivation will encourage students to be more disciplined in their academic activities Research Subject The subjects of this research are students in the Alentejo region of Portugal, with a total of 395 data used, employing machine learning classification algorithms including Decision Tree, Random Forest, ANN, SVM, and Naïve Bayes Research Method The method used in this research is the survey and documentation method. Data were collected and analyzed using MATLAB programming from 127 students of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training and the Faculty of Engineering at Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto Research Results Overall, the results of this research using MATLAB indicate that the level of learning motivation and discipline, as graphically represented based on the comparison of the mean square errors (MSE) generated from the linear regression and quadratic regression processes, which are 0.081278 and 0.081483, respectively, show a relatively small difference in this formulation. In the case of assessing the influence of students' learning motivation on their level of discipline in attending university lectures, two regression models, linear and quadratic, were attempted. The results obtained indicate that the linear regression model yields a mean square error (MSE) of 8.13%, whereas the regression model Research Power The strength of this research lies in the methods and processes used, through linear regression and quadratic regression, which can demonstrate significant results. Additionally, the use of the MATLAB programming application facilitates calculations and result accuracy
