Switchgear systems

Secondary technology for advanced substations

Integrated engineering
using IEC 61850
Some 20 years after the introduction of the IEC 61850-based communication system, many German energy suppli-
ers are still beginners and are not fully utilizing Ethernet-based communication system in their switchgear systems.
However, the majority of energy supply companies (EVU) have been using IEC 61850 for many years.
