Situation Analysis
Objectives of the Session:

Terminal Objective: Gain significant understanding on the process of how to make Strategic
Intervention Materials (SIM)
Enabling Objectives: At the end of the session, teachers are expected to:
1. Identify the Least Mastered Competencies per subject area.
2. Make interventions on the least mastered competencies per subject area.
3. Conceptualize Strategic Intervention Materials for the least mastered competencies.
Key Understanding or Learning Points:

1. In coming up with a relevant and comprehensive school improvement plan (SIP),


School Planning Team through the leadership of the School Head should have a
good grasp of what crucial data are needed to be gathered in combination with the
necessary tools to come up with a comprehensive situational analysis.
2. “Situational analysis” helps develop a basis of understanding of the environment in
which a plan is delivered.
3. It provides a common reference point for the planning process and prioritizes
actions.

 Powerpoint presentation/slide decks
on SIM 1 hour

 Metacards/ Bondpapers

Introduce the Session (2 minutes):


Situational analysis gives way to data validation; assessment of practices, capabilities and
capacity to efficiently manage curriculum support system; identifying priority key stages
school groups, geographical areas, and other concerns. It also allows for internal and external
analysis.
