Application Area | The Silence A/H are a workbench extractor used to extract dusts such as occur in laboratories, e.g., dental labs. It is solely intended for commercial use in laboratories and not for private, household use. A.1 Proper Use Proper use implies the extraction of dry, non-explosive dusts. Fire-promoting, easily flammable, flammable, or explosive materials may not be extracted with the Silence A/H. The extraction of liquids, smoldering, or burning materials is prohibited. The unit may not be operated at temperatures above 40 °C [104 °F]. -5- Information for Operators | B. Hazard and Warning Information | Only intended for indoor use. The unit is only designed for dry applications and may not be operated or stored outdoors or under wet conditions. The Silence A/H laboratory dust extractor is an electric device and, a such, carries with it a certain inherent potential hazard. The unit may not be taken into service until any enquired alterations to comply with regionally specific power plug configurations have been made. The unit may not be operated without supervision All required tools must be appropriately cleaned prior to use when the unit is employed for medical purposes or in conjunction with medicinal materials. If the dust extractor is employed to extract hazardous materials, appropriate personal protective gear must be worn and steps must be taken to ensure that the exhaust air is properly ventilated. Any repairs not specifically described in these operating instructions, in particular the inspection of the suction turbine outside the unit, may only be performed by a qualified electrician. | D. Repairs | Repairs may only be performed by qualified electricians or authorized dealers. Depending on the material trapped by the filters, protective gear may need to be worn during repairs. -7- Information for Operators | E. Disposal Information | E.1 Disposing of Consumables Full dust filters must be disposed of under compliance with locally applicable regulations. Depending on the material trapped by the filters, protective gear may need to be worn during disposal. E.2 Disposing of the Unit The unit must be disposed of by an authorized recycling operation. The selected firm must be informed of all possibly health-hazardousresiduesin the unit. Cleaning & Maintenance 1 Filter cleaning In order to ensure maximum suction performance, it informs you when to change the filter for the filter unit. * When the dust collection performance is insufficient (when the suction speed drops below the specified level). 2 Cleaning / Maintenance It is not permitted to open the device in any way other than the procedure described below! 2.1 Cleaning Clean the outside of the device with a wet cloth. Clean the hoods with a wet cloth or alcohol tissues. Do not use autoclaves for disinfecting the hoods. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaning or disinfectants. If you want to clean 3 joint arm, you can operate with suction at level 2 ~ 3 and spray an alcohol about 4~5 times. You can also clean the hood with alcohol. 2.2 Filter replacement This ULPA filter is an U15 class filter. Therefore, it protects the human body to a high level. The way to check if the filter cleaning is being efficient is to check the suction volume. Repeated filter cleaning means that the fine filter is clogged and filter cleaning is not appropriate at this time. In this case, the secondary ULPA filter needs to be replaced. » Typically, the 2nd filter is replaced every 1 year. Do not clean the filter directly with compressed air, brush, or water. This can damage the filter material! When installing the filter, be sure to install it in the correct position. Otherwise, leakage may occur. 3 Safety Mechanism The suction device is protected by a three device protection system. The circuit breaker on the input part, the fuse on the main board, and the motor’s the temperature control device are operated to protect the suction device safely. Repeated operation of the device protection system is due to a faulty device (or faulty suction device). Repair your device! 4 Parts list You can check the basic product parts list and the separately purchased parts list. Components (consumables or parts that are worn or damaged) that are not covered by the product warranty are listed in the separately purchased parts list. Warranty claims may only be made upon presentation of the original sales receipt from the authorized dealer. Parts which are subject to natural wear and tear (wear parts) and consumables are excluded from the guarantee. These parts are marked in the spare part list. The warranty is voided in case of improper use; failure to observe the operating, cleaning, maintenance, and connection instructions; in case of independent repairs or repairs by unauthorized personnel; if spare parts from other manufacturers are employed, or; incase of unusual influences or influences not in compliance with the utilization instructions. Warranty service shall not extend the original warranty. -21- Error List Error Dust corrector stops suddenly, for no apparent reason. Insufficient extraction force "Filter" indicator goes on shortly after filters were replaced. Possible cause + Dust corrector continued to be used, despite "Change Filter" indicator. + Unit fuse blown + Motor protection switch has been activated due to overload (temperature, electricity). + Motor over-temperature protector switch is activated. + In-house fuse blown. + Extraction force level is too low. + The Filter is blocked. +The Suction Arm or hose is blocked. + The Suction Arm or hose is damaged. + The filter is blocked. +The Suction Arm or Hose is blocked. + The Flow sensor is defected. -22- Corrective action Check and replace the filters. Check and reinstall the fuse. Check the motor protection switch, if necessary reset. Change the motor if repeatedly activated. Check the fuse on the main PCB board.
