IV. My Learnings (Answer the following questions comprehensively to describe your learnings from the attended session.
You may include data or pieces of literature to explain your claims.)
1. What are the key principles that you have learned from the topics discussed?
• Most of my professors still use the traditional way of teaching, including during exams. However,
some professors prefer to use technology by incorporating Google apps in their teaching and
quizzes. When our class is in-person, I tend to enjoy the traditional method of teaching more
because it feels like I am truly a student. There is an interaction between the ideas of the professor
and the students that is unique to this type of learning. In modern education, it's great to use
technology when it is accessible to all students, or when there is an online class to reduce the hassle.
For example, when taking an exam, using technology means you don't need paper and pen to
answer questions. Instead, you can use your phone to answer the questions and immediately see
your score.
2. How do you think these courses/topics help you in your academic journey as a professional
or future school head?
• Flexible learning encourages teachers to experiment with different teaching strategies, such as
internet resources, multimedia tools, and interactive content. This diversity can increase the
effectiveness and efficiency of lessons while also saving money for both teachers and schools by
reducing the need for tangible resources like textbooks and classroom supplies. Additionally, this
type of education offers more resources and help for those who need it. Future educators can
participate in flexible learning to stay current on the most recent teaching techniques and
pedagogical advancements.
3. What action will I take to apply these learnings?
• As a future teacher, I believe that the power of flexible learning is key to creating a more inclusive,
interesting and successful educational experience. Flexible learning offers a variety of tools,
including interactive platforms and multimedia resources, that can enhance student engagement
and enjoyment of the material. Adopting flexible learning has given me the ability to respond to
unforeseen events, such as pandemics or changing educational trends, while also equipping
students with the necessary skills to adapt to a rapidly changing world. Flexible learning is more
than just a teaching approach; it is a concept that acknowledges the diverse needs of students and
empowers them to succeed.
4. Cite instances where the topics had been applied in your current station.
• During the pandemic, I had to adapt to a flexible learning approach where teaching and
communication with my teachers were conducted through Google Meet and other Google
applications. Even though we have resumed in-person classes now, online classes are still being
held, which can be challenging at times. For instance, when we have an in-person class and the
teacher decides to conduct an online class, it becomes difficult for me since I live far away from
the university. As a result, I attend online classes while traveling. Despite the challenges, I have
managed to learn something new every day.
