Mathematics 1

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the pupils understand the topic;

a. Recognize numbers 1-100;


b. Identify the symbols
c. Appreciate the subject through participating in the class.

a. Topic: Counting numbers from 1-100

c. Instructional Materials: Flash cards, visual aids, popsicle sticks
d. Values Integration: Patients, Appreciation, Analytic

III. PROCEDURE

a. Motivation
The teacher presents a mathematical song to the pupils

TEN LITTLE INDIAN BOYS

One little, two little, three little Indians


Four little, five little, six little Indians
Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians,
Ten little Indian boys. (One time)

Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians


Seven little, six little, five little Indians
Four little, three little, two little Indians
One little Indian boy.

(Repeat one time)


i. Review: Allowing learners to count and identify the numbers while
singing the song ten little Indian boys.
ii. Questions:
1. How many Indian boys mentioned in the song?
2. How many numbers?
3. What is the symbol of one?
4. How to spell the number 2?

b. Activity

i. Provide standards for the group


ii. Giving the mechanics of the activity
1. Let one pupil count a number and pause
2. After counting the one pupil must continue or must fill in the
blanks the number after that is being paused.
3. When done teacher will ask the pupils if the count it correctly.

c. Analysis

i. Process the activity


ii. Ask further questions:
 What number is next to one?
 Can you identify the number 10?
 Is 50 next to 49?
 What is the symbol of seventy?
 From 1-100 what is the biggest number?

d. Abstraction

i. Proceed to the lesson which is counting numbers 1-100


 Ask the pupils if they know how to count numbers?
 Let the pupils count up to the numbers that they have known.
 Introduce the numbers from 1-100
 Discuss the numbers from 1-100

e. Application

The teacher will post a flashcard the then pupils will identify and count the
numbers continuously.
IV. EVALUATION

In your notebook copy the following questions and after copying write the
correct sequence of the number.

1. 1, 2, 3, 4, _, 6
2. 10, 11, _, 13, 14, 15
3. _, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35
4. 66, 67, 68, 69, _, 71
5. 95, 96, 97,98, _, 100
