BASIC FUNCTION
The Lead Structural Design/Drafting in a project is the focal point for all Structural Drafting activities, supervise
Structural designer/drafter, intra-disciplines communications.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
This shall include, but not limited to the following:
1) Reports Structural Design / Drafting Supervisor.
2) Becomes familiar with the as-awarded Structural Drafting scope of work for the project and for the
construction and installation sequence.

3) Coordinates with Project Engineering to identify the construction sequence and preferential design details.

4) Develops and maintains a punchlist of items or information required for the project and communicates to the
Project Engineering when the absence of required input is hindering progress or productivity in structural design.

5) Assigns personnel to the creation and updating of standard reference detail drawings and documents, and
monitors the progress and quality of their works.

6) Assigns personnel to the creation of the structural main steel and detail steel model, and monitors their
progress and the quality of their outputs.

7) Assigns personnel to the creation of 2D drawings and the 3D model that incorporate the requirements of the
contract, all other engineering disciplines, and Fabricator. Monitors progress and the quality of the deliverables.

8) Coordinates project-related activities with Project Engineering & other departments.

9) Performs a final review of all structural drawings prior to their issue.
10) Obtains approval signatures required for the review, approval, AFC, and revision drawing issues.

11) Ensures that the drawing list is created and maintained to show progress and current drawing status.

12) Becomes and remains fully knowledgeable of the Structural Drafting project scope, budget, and schedule, and
takes appropriate action related to actual or potential changes that might impact the Structural Drafting budget or
schedule.

13) Ensures Drafting deliverables are completed on time in accordance with the project schedule.
14) Updates monthly manhour forecasts and communicates the requirement for personnel/manpower assignment
changes to the Structural Design / Drafting Supervisor.
15) Updates tracking report and project reports.
16) Attends the relevant project meetings to represent design team.

17) Works with Project Engineering to estimate project change orders accordance with the WP Index Plan.
