7
• Is reaching temperature sufficient to guarantee
sterilization?

NO!!!

8
Non condensable gas (NCG)

• Air and / or other gas that will not undergo

liquefaction under the conditions of saturated
steam processes (ISO 17665-1)
• Sources of NCG:
• Water: underground source - carbon
dioxide
• Water treatment: RO - carbon dioxide
• O2, CO2, N2, etc.
• Leakage in steam pipes, fittings, etc.
• Regulatory limit: 3.5% in steam line feed.

Dalton Law
• Dalton's law states that the total pressure of a gas mixture is equal to
the sum of the pressures exerted by each constituent gas.
