“Research methods are of utmost importance in a research process

Importance of the Study
To be successful in life, only IQ or high educational achievement is not enough, other
variables also play a significant role in this. Emotional Intelligence is one of such
elements, which plays a vital role in the success of an individual. As mentioned earlier,
EQ is not an inborn capacity. One can develop his or her EQ with the help of special
efforts. So, it is important for schools to consider EQ as an important factor to improve
the social and economic level of an individual as well as the community.

Today, many factors lead to school children dropping out of their schools. This leads
to incidents of violence in school, social isolation, lack of control of emotions, sexual
abuse, alcoholism, etc. To control these problems, and to improve the level of
education, Emotional Quotient (EQ) has become an inevitable component of today’s
education system. With reference to this, the importance of this study is significant.

Without thinking at all, and without reflecting for a moment, an emotionally charged
individual gets carried away by his emotions, and jumps into a situation. Many a times,
this leads to destructive or harmful acts. In such a situation, the importance of emotional
quotient is immediately realized. If one is equipped with the required education and
bears a high emotional quotient then such a situation can be avoided. It is in such
scenarios that the importance of this study becomes highly relevant in the present time.

To improve the overall Indian Social System and our Educational System, as well as
to enable our students to tackle any situation in any part of this world, Emotional
Quotient (EQ) plays a very important role. Hence this study will prove very necessary,
