Concluding Rites

- Announcements (After priest leaves)

- They can occur after the post-communion prayer and before the blessing.
Making announcements here makes practical sense as the announcements often
pertain to our life outside of worship.

- Receive God's blessing (Final blessing)

- What is the blessing in the concluding rite?
In every case, the blessing is always trinitarian: "May almighty God bless you, the
Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." It is in the triune God and in the sign of
the cross that we find our blessing. After the blessing, the deacon dismisses the
people. In fact, the dismissal gives the liturgy its name.
-

- Hear God’s word and respond to it

- Closing prayer

- Priest walks away

Announcements: the priest asks if there are any announcements
(the crowd may remain standing, but may sit if asked to)

Greeting: (priest asks everyone to stand) may the lord be with you,
Response: And with your spirit

Blessing: (Priest says the blessing while doing the sign of the
cross action) May almighty God bless you, In the name of the
father, son and of the holy spirit. Amen

Dismissal: (The deacon or Priest) go in peace of Christ or the

mass is ended. Or go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Response: Thanks be to God.

Then we play a closing song toward the end.

Another thing we can do is instead of the announcements being

first, we can put the announcements between the blessings, and
dismissal, so like we can do this.

After blessings, someone comes up and asks if there are

announcements. Meanwhile the priest gets ready to leave, and if
there are no announcements the deacon can dismiss everyone and
then we play the song.
