6. "Be responsible to what the government has gave and help us"
7. "If you are responsible to your jurisdiction, you can help your tribe."
10. "In the Law there is justice, and if there is justice, there is God"
14. "Understand the Law of the tribe, because that is the Law that the God has left to your
ancestors"
→ For me, I agree to Governor Higyawan point of view as he doesn't only reside to the
Government Law but also to the Indigenous Law. I like how he said that " we are indigenous
so we must love our own land and make use of it". As he said that, indigenous people now are
being irresponsible to their obligations, some are asking for alms and others buy vegetables
instead of planting it on there own lands.
His point of view is to educate us all and make us understand the Law, that we do not always
wait for the Governments help but to help our selves also. His speech is more like" We should
be responsible and maintain the peace and the old commandments". So I agree to what he
said.
II. In your own opinion, how can the Indigenous people Emancipate Economically.
→ . In my own opinion, the indigenous people can emancipate economically if they make use
of their own lands and if the goods they have plant in farm was also worth the price if they
sell it to the market. As i know that more plants more income. Also, they could use their
animals like cows, Carabao, and horses. They could breed more animals so that they could
emancipate economically and not just wait to the governments say. If the goods they make
will stay at there own or if the price to the goods they sell to the market is worth it then,
surely they could emancipate economically.
