Before we start the course, take some time to reflect upon the following questions. This activity will
help you to work out what you believe are your communication strengths and areas for improvement.

Talking

Making conversation comes naturally to me.

I feel confident when talking to people, even those I don’t


know.

I try to smile and be positive when communicating with others.

successful in my aim. For example, face-to-face or via email.

I check to see that people have understood what I’ve said.

interviews, key meetings or when delivering a speech.
