Entry Stairs - Green Stone stained red with the
Conquest
of
Cthulhu
You must journey to the Temple in the heart of the
Mountains of Madness, deep in the Bergen Chrypt
to align the stars and weaken Nechrubel by raising
R ’lyeh from the Endless Sea and awakening the
Great Old One, Cthulhu.
The Path is HIDDEN and the Way must be forced
OPENED with sacrifice. A willing person must slit
their wrists and bleed themselves to Broken as they
step into the mountains of Bergen Chrypt to reveal
the Mountains of Madness.
The trek to the peak on which the Temple lays is
arduous, with freezing winds, rivers that flow with
blood, and strange lights in the sky that constantly
pulse and writhe in a plethora of colors and prevent
the noticing of time passing.
Once the Temple has been reached, the Portal must
be RUPTURED by the permanent sacrifice of 8 HP.
From there, the stairs lead up into the Vestibule of
the Cthulhu Temple Test.

2. Vestibule of R ’lyeh - Strange soapstone statue
(2a) holds fetid water in a bowl made of carved
tentacles. This is water from the Sunken C ity of
R ’lyeh and must sanctify whoever performs the
ritual in R oom 6. Those who drink it have the
truth revealed to them of all things hidden within
the Temple, but must make a DR12 Toughness
Test or be Broken by the revelations revealed.
3. Sanctum of the Elder Sign - Smells of the
Endless Sea and decay. Five-pointed star that
has been distorted along its lines and contains an
eye-flame symbol in the center is inlaid in the
floor of this room in Yellow Stone. If 5 lives are
sacrificed in this chamber, the protections on
R ’lyeh weaken and it begins to R ise.
4. L eviathan C ultist Presbytery - Driftwood pews
and waterlogged chairs fill this room. Behind one
(4a) is a collection of long frozen bottles of alcohol
with small eldritch creatures at the bottom of them
5. Sacristy of the Sea - Full of sea foam green
robes, black candles that bleed when lit, a rusty
lamp, and a black leather tome of worship and
rituals. It contains the R itual of Awakening
needed to raise Cthulhu. The Black Candles, Book of
Oblivion, and Tentacles of Zen have their rules written
in MÖRK BORG CULT: FERETORY THE TENEBROUS RELIQUARY.
6. Sanctuary of Cthulhu - Crystals pulsate
through every imaginable color around an
undulating statue carved of a fleshy material (6a).
The R itual of Awakening must be performed here
and requires the sacrifice of 4 Souls. Once
completed, a random Misery is undone and
Cthulhu awakens from their slumber.
