LexisNexis Bridger Insight XG (XG) Enterprise offers many system configuration options that let you
install the system in a way that best suits your organization's needs.

XG Enterprise offers various product services that can be installed together on one server or on separate
servers to support capacity, redundancy, and availability needs. The location of the product services and
the number of the servers for your organization greatly depends on your business needs.

The system that is described in this publication includes the following separate, dedicated servers:
database, search core, web, utility, and batch.

XG is scalable and can contain multiple highly-available servers at each layer.

The numbers in the diagram correspond to the XG Architecture

following system components:

1. Client Machines for Enterprise Manager

2. Client Machines for XG
®
3. LexisNexis Servers
4. XG Web Servers
5. XG Email Server
6. XG File Transfer Server
7. XG Utility Servers
8. XG Database Servers
9. XG Batch Servers
10. XG Batch Queue
11. XG Search Core Servers

The following sections describe the data

transfer between the system components in
the XG architecture. The numbers in the
descriptions correspond to the numbers in the
XG Architecture diagram.
Client Machines for Enterprise Manager (1)
Your organization uses client machines to access Enterprise Manager and send authenticated
requests from Enterprise Manager to the web servers (4). Enterprise Manager lets your organization

requests from the XG user interface and XG web services to the web servers (4).
Your organization uses client machines to send files for Automatic Batch processing to the file
transfer server (6).
Your organization uses client machines to download output files from Automatic Batch searches from
the file transfer server.

LexisNexis Servers (3)

® ™
The LexisNexis servers send the LexisNexis screening lists and the LexisNexis WorldCompliance
screening lists to the utility servers (7).

the web servers (4) or the batch servers (9).

XG Web Servers (4)

The web servers cache frequently-accessed data on the database servers.
The web servers send input data to the search core servers (11) for processing by the list screening
service.
The web servers send input data to the LexisNexis servers (3) for processing by search services other
than the list screening service.
The web servers deposit the batch files that are uploaded from the XG user interfaces into the batch
queue (10).
The web servers make database reads and modifications on the database servers (8).
The web servers send responses to the client machines for Enterprise Manager (1) and to the client
machines for XG (2).
The web servers send email notifications to your organization through the mail servers (11).

Mail Server (5)

The mail server sends notifications to the system users and the client users.

service.
The batch servers send input data to the LexisNexis servers (3) for processing by search services
other than the list screening service.
The batch servers write the batch results to the database servers (8).
The batch servers deposit the output files from Automatic Batch processing onto the file transfer
server (6)

Batch Queue (10)

Your organization's firewalls protect the XG system from external access.

Communication between the web servers and the external components is over HTTPS. External
communication is encrypted with SSL (secure sockets layer) 2048-bit RSA encryption that uses SHA2
hash. Communication between the components that are behind the firewall is over HTTPS or HTTP.
Internal communication with the database server is encrypted with SSL 2048-bit RSA encryption.

If you use SFTP, Automatic Batch files are transferred using SFTP over a SSH2 (Secure Shell 2) connection.
