ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This acknowledgement recognizes all individuals and organizations who provided support
and assistance in undertaking of the geological exploration work for the proposed Igurubi
Gold Mining Project in Igunga District, Tabora Region of the united Republic of Tanzania.
Also, we acknowledge the support provided by all local communities that accompanied Team
of experts and facilitated our introduction to the village community and availability of
necessary information and, these helped us in the preparation of this report.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The proposed Project is located in Igunga District, north west portion of Tanzania, about 900
Kilometres North West of Dar es Salaam City. Nzega and Igunga towns are situated roughly
120 km and 200kms respectively to the North and North east of Tabora town (the regional
headquarter of the Tabora Region). The proposed Project fall under the jurisdiction of Igunga
District, Igurubi Ward, Kalangale Villages
Access to the Project from Mwanza is via the Mwanza-Shinyanya-Igunga tarmac Road,
approximately 247 km South of Mwanza City to the Ibologelo village center approximately
33kms east from the town of Nzega. Then from Ibologelo center you drive north east to the
Kalangale village on the gravel road approximately 15km to the site. Another altenative rout
is from Igunga town, which is located 50kms east of Ibologelo village center
The project is located in the Archaean Lake Victoria Goldfields (LVG) in Tanzania with, highly
endowed amalgamation of terranes, which hosts several world-class gold deposits, including
operating mines at Geita, Back reef, Bulyanhulu, Buzwagi, North Mara and Golden Pride
(Closed). The LVG also has thousands of artisanal workings along the shear zones in this LV
Goldfield.
The Ibologelo-Igurubi Gold Project is located along the eastern boundary of the Nzega
greenstone It is proximal to one of the splays of an NNW-SSE trending, north easterly
dipping major shear zone, locally known as the Igurubi Shear Zone (MSZ), with prominent
artisanal operation for gold located along this shear zone This shear zone is parallel to
another deep crustal shear zone known as Choma shear zone, located to its west.
The style of gold mineralization is associated with major shear zone which was developed
during the deformation, metamorphism and associated granite emplacement of the Nzega
greenstone belt. The prospect area is dominated by greenish grey to yellowish grey, coarse
grained, moderately weathered to highly weathered, unfoliated granodiorite. The
mineralization within the granodiorite host rock are brittle-ductile shear zones probably
developed syntectonically during the emplacement of the granodiorite bodies.
Geological assessment of the proposed Igurubi Gold Project was conducted through
mapping, grab rock sampling and documentation (collection of Geological data) across the
Project area and around the project area for the purpose of evaluation of the potentiality of
the project area to host economic gold mineralization in November, 2020 and to advise the
licence owner accordingly.
Ten rock grab (10) samples from various locations were collected. The grab samples were
collected from both quartz veins and volcanics rocks. All the samples were sent to GST
Geochemical laboratory for Au grade analysis
The laboratory analysis results were aimed at deciphering the information regarding the
quality of the gold mineralization present in these PMLs on various locations.
The percentage for the samples that come out with anaomalous value is over 90%, the
sample results range from 0.021ppm to 11.421ppm. The high value come from KS03 sample
of sulphonic quartz vein lithology hosted in felsic volcanics, this means that greater portion of
the area is suitable for gold mineralization and if detail exploration work is done to uncertain
the quantity and quality of gold mineralization present in these PML’s.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 General Background
The Igurubi Gold Project is located along the eastern boundary of the Nzega greenstone It is
proximal to one of the splays of an NNW-SSE trending, north easterly dipping major shear
zone, locally known as the Igurubi Shear Zone (MSZ), with prominent artisanal operation for
gold located along this shear zone This shear zone is parallel to another deep crustal shear
zone known as Choma shear zone, located to its west.
Near the vicinity of the shear zone, the granodiorite shows presence of quartzo-feldspathic
veining, quartz veining, and presence of felsic/quartz porphyry veins and also shows
presence of visible sulphides of pyrites and Pyrrhotite of both massive and dissemination.
The hydrothermally emplaced mineralization is accompanied by silicification and chlorite-
pyrrhotite-pyrite alteration.

1.2 The Project Location

The proposed Project is located in Igunga District, north west portion of Tanzania, about 900
Kilometres North West of Dar es Salaam City. Nzega and Igunga towns are situated roughly
120 km and 200kms respectively to the North and North east of Tabora town (the regional
headquarter of the Tabora Region). The proposed Project fall under the jurisdiction of Igunga
District, Igurubi Ward, Kalangale Village(Figure 1.1).
The project is located in the Archaean Lake Victoria Goldfields (LVG) in Tanzania with, highly

1.4 Climate
1.4.1 Temperature
The climate is broadly described as tropical with marked seasonal and altitudinal
temperature variations, and sharply defined dry and rainy seasons. The situation is prevailing
in different geographical areas relative to elevation and seasonal variations.
Tanzania has a predominantly tropical climate with the coastal regions being particularly
warm and humid while highland areas are more temperate. Temperatures do not fluctuate
substantially through out the year, though they dip slightly in the coolest months (June
through September).
In Igunga, the wet season is humid and overcast, the dry season is windy and partly cloudy,
and it is hot year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from
61°F to 91°F and is rarely below 58°F or above 9

1.4.2 Precipitation
A wet day is one with at least 0.04 inches of liquid or liquid-equivalent precipitation. The
chance of wet days in Igunga varies very significantly throughout the year.
The wetter season lasts 5.8 months, from November 9 to May 2, with a greater than 27%
chance of a given day being a wet day. The month with the most wet days in Igunga is
December, with an average of 15.7 days with at least 0.04 inches of precipitation.
The drier season lasts 6.2 months, from May 2 to November 9. The month with the fewest
wet days in Igunga is July, with an average of 0.1 days with at least 0.04 inches of
precipitation.
The month with the most days of rain alone in Igunga is December, with an average of 15.7
days. Based on this categorization, the most common form of precipitation throughout the
year is rain alone, with a peak probability of 54% on January 1, figure 1.5.
The percentage of days in which various types of precipitation are observed, excluding trace
quantities: rain alone, snow alone, and mixed (both rain and snow fell in the same day)

2.0 TECHNICAL APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
Geological assessment of the proposed Igurubi Gold Project was conducted through
mapping, grab sample collection and documentation (collection of Geological data) across
the Project area and around the project area for the purpose of understanding the regional
and local geology of the area. Constraints on the site, which could have an impact on the
realization of the Project was also assessed. The methods adopted include:
2.1 Documents Review
Review of previous works reports, documents and materials including geological maps,
geological structural maps, topographical maps, regional and local ground magnetic maps of
the area and the surrounding areas where known Gold occurrence is present, access roads,
regional lithological and ligolith formations georeferencing all the available maps to identify
the location of Project area and regional geology of the area.
2.2 Geological mapping
Selection and designing of mapping traverse cross the strike of the geological formation and
mapping by using handheld Garmin map 62S GPS for documentation of lithologies,
lithologies and structures, following the designed traverses. Walking and documenting all
paleochanels which was thought to expose rocks during water runoff
2.3 Grab Samples Collection
A total of ten (10) grab samples was collected and sent to SGS Geochemical laboratory for
analysis. The grab samples were collected from the rock’s exposure and from the artisanal
working to test the grade of the mineralized rocks within the tenements.
3.0. GEOLOGICAL SETTING ASSESSMENT
3.1. Regional Geology
The PML’s are located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields (LVG) The LVG comprise a number of
E–W to NW–SE striking super-terranes that can be subdivided into terranes and belts
(Kabete et al. 2008). The greenstone belts in the LVG are comprised of dominantly mafic
volcanic rocks and (immature) sedimentary rocks that are assigned to the Late Archean
Nyanzian Supergroup (Borg 1990; Borg and Shackleton 1997). The super group can roughly
be divided into a Lower and Upper Series on the basis of a recognizable upward transition
from mafic to felsic lavas, with minor tuffs and interbedded sedimentary rocks.
The PML’s are located in the Late Archaean Lake Victoria Goldfields (LVG) in Tanzania with
highly endowed amalgamation of terranes, which hosts several world-class gold deposits,
including operating mines at Geita, Bulyanhulu, Buzwagi, Buck Reef, Golden Pride (Closed)
and North Mara, figure 3.3.
The greenstone belts in the LVG are comprised of dominantly mafic volcanic rocks and
clastic sedimentary rocks that are assigned to the Late Archean Nyanzian Supergroup. The
Supergroup can roughly be divided into a Lower “Nyanzian” and Upper “Kavirondian” Groups
on the basis of a recognizable upward transition from mafic to felsic lavas, with minor tuffs to
interbedded sedimentary rocks. The Nyanzian Group is dominantly constituted by
metavolcanics while the younger Kavirondian Group is dominated by of clastic
metasediments. Intermediate to felsic plutonic rocks including local, older syn-volcanic
bodies and an extensive suite of late (circa 2650-2640 Ma) potassic (K)-granitoids
substantially invade and disrupt the greenstone belts.
The Igurubi Gold Project is located in the Nzega Greenstone Belt (NGB) of the Nzega–
Sekenke Terrane (Figure 3.5). The Nzega–Sekenke Terrane forms the southernmost portion
of the LVG and is juxtaposed against the Dodoman Granite-Gneiss Belt to the south. The
NGB is an E–W trending greenstone belt that contains volcanic and sedimentary rocks
belonging to both the Upper and Lower Nyanzian Groups.
The belt is characterized by greenschist facies, fine-to medium-grained siliciclastic rocks
interbedded with banded iron formations (BIFs). The most prominent shear system in the
NGB is the major ~150 km long, generally E–W trending Bulangamirwa Shear Zone situated
centrally in the NGB. Due to its vicinity to the Golden Pride gold deposit in the central part of
the NGB, the local name adapted for this shear zone is the Golden Pride Shear Zone (GPSZ)
and minor Matinje NNW-SSE. In areas away from shear zones, the dominant structural style
is macro-scale folding, Figure 3.5.

3.2. Local Geology
The Igurubi in Igunga district is located along the eastern boundary of the Nzega greenstone
belt where it is intruded by a syn to late tectonic granodiorite. It is proximal to one of the
splays of an NNW-SSE trending, north easterly dipping major shear zone, locally known as
the Matinge-Igurubi Shear Zone (MSZ), named after a prominent artisanal operation for gold
located along this shear zone (3.5). This shear zone is parallel to another deep crustal shear
zone known as Choma shear zone, located to its west Limited field observations suggest
reverse sense of movement with a dextral component.
The Archean Greenstone rocks which underlie the area are mostly obscured by the
widespread blanket of young quaternary sediments and various superficial deposits.
The superficial deposit is widely blanketed the area with some few parts ie the most south
west part of the PMLs Basic Volcanics, Felsic Volcanics, Metagabbro and quartz Porphyry is
exposed. The following are some of the outcrops present on PMLs
The main lithology is granodiorite which is light greenish grey, medium grained to coarse
grained, unfoliated. It shows presence of thin quartzo feldspathic and quartz veinlets. The
rock is moderate to highly weathered. It contains quartz and is distinguished from granite by
its having more plagioclase feldspar than orthoclase feldspar; its other mineral constituents
include hornblende, biotite, and augite.
Laterite which is soil layer that is rich in iron oxide and derived from a wide variety of rocks
weathering under strongly oxidizing and leaching conditions. It forms in tropical and
subtropical regions where the climate is humid. Typical laterite is porous and claylike. It
contains the iron oxide minerals goethite, HFeO2; lepidocrocite, FeO(OH); and hematite,
Fe2O3.
Quartz-porphyry is a type of volcanic (igneous) rock containing large porphyritic crystals of
quartz. These rocks are classified as hemi-crystalline acid rocks.
Basic Volcanics, This includes basalt and trachybasalt, they are usually dark coloured and
fine grained.
Felsic Volcanics, This includes acid lava and tuffs, they are usually white or light pinkish
grey coloured and fine grained.
Quartz Vein, These are dark brown, greyish white to white in colour, sheared, unfoliated and
show presence of visible sulphides of pyrites and Pyrrhotite of both massive and
dissemination
A prominent shear zone is observed in the central part of the PML’s whereby there is a series
of old and artisanal workings shafts/pits parallel to the shearing strike, figure 3.7

3.3 Mineralization
The style of gold mineralization observed at the Igurubi Gold Project can be considered as
Orogenic style gold mineralization of Archaean age associated a major shear zone which was
developed during the deformation, metamorphism and associated granite emplacement of the
Nzega greenstone belt. The prospect area is dominated by greenish grey to yellowish grey,
coarse grained, moderately weathered to highly weathered, unfoliated granodiorite and felsic
Volcanics. The mineralization within the granodiorite and felsic volcanics host rock are brittle-

23
Igurubi Gold Exploration Report_2023
ductile shear zones probably developed syntectonically during the emplacement of the
granodiorite bodies.
Quartz veins are dark brown, greyish white to white in colour, unfoliated and show presence of
visible sulphides of pyrites and Pyrrhotite of both massive and dissemination. Visible gold was
also observed from one location (Artisan workings).
The hydrothermally emplaced mineralization is accompanied by silicification and chlorite-
pyrrhotite-pyrite alteration.
There is a positive correlation between gold and silicification, particularly when the alteration is
accompanied by pyrite and pyrrhotite.

4.0 SAMPLE COLLECTION AND LABORATORY RESULTS
4.1 Grab Samples and Artisanal Tailings Samples Collection
Ten (10) grab samples were collected, the grab samples were collected from both quartz veins
and volcanics rocks. All the samples was sent to GST Geochemical laboratory for Au grade
analysis

4.2 Laboratory work and laboratory results Discussion

The laboratory analysis results were aimed at deciphering the information regarding the quality
of the gold mineralization present in the PMLs on various locations.
The percentage for the samples that come out with anaomalous value is over 90%, the sample
results range from 0.021ppm to 11.421ppm. The high value come from KS03 sample of quartz
vein lithology, this means that greater portion of the area is suitable for gold mineralization and if

7.0 CONCLUSION AND RECCOMMENDATION
7.1 Conclusion
The Igurubi Gold Project is located along the eastern boundary of the Nzega greenstone It is
proximal to one of the splays of an NNW-SSE trending, north easterly dipping major shear
zone, locally known as the Matinge-Igurubi Shear Zone (MSZ), with prominent artisanal
operation for gold located along this shear zone This shear zone is parallel to another deep
crustal shear zone known as Choma shear zone, located to its west.
The style of gold mineralization is associated with major shear zone which was developed
during the deformation, metamorphism and associated granite emplacement of the Nzega
greenstone belt. The prospect area is dominated by greenish grey to yellowish grey, coarse
grained, moderately weathered to highly weathered, unfoliated granodiorite and felsic
Volcanics. The mineralization within the granodiorite/felsic Volcanics host rock are brittle-
ductile shear zones probably developed syntectonically during the emplacement of the
granodiorite bodies.
Continuous detail exploration work is very much essential in view to enhance the resource
base of gold ores in the study area. And hence, the processes involve, resource evaluation,
mine planning and excavation of these will be easier. With the help of exploration database
and analysis on gap areas, new acceptable norms and parameters will be suggested to carry
out various exploration activities.
Attempts will be made to establish geological, stratigraphical, lithological, mineralogical,
physiographical and structural guides for direct or indirect predictions of gold mineralization in
the area for further exploration and mining processes.
.
7.2 Recommendation
According to the data collected during the field work and the laboratory results, it is
recommended that: -
 The Detail Exploration works conducted on all area starting with detail Induced
Polalization (IP) geophysical method, this will help to determine the deep seated
sulphides mineralization which shows positive correlation with gold mineralisation;
 Drilling plan close to the main shear zone; and
 All the samples should be sent to the geochemical laboratory for Au analysis in
metres basis,
