Kjos Music Company, San Diego, California wrn183About the Composer Larisa Suknov is an accomplished composer and successful music educator with over 40 years of teaching experience. Her music education began at age 7 in Odessa, Ukraine at the Children’s Music School. Her seven-year curriculum included an intense focus on piano, solfeggio, music theory, choir, and piano accompaniment. There- after, she attended the prestigious Professor Stolyarsky Special Music School of Odessa, graduating in 1970. Subsequently, she attended and graduated from the Odessa State Conservatory. She accepted the piano teacher position at the Children’s Music School in Odessa where she taught children of all ages for 22 years. In 1993, Larisa sought better opportunities and immigrated to the United States with her family. Soon after, Larisa gamered a position as a piano accompanist with the New Jersey Ballet Company. Inspired by the artistry, she began composing music for ballet classes and numerous stage productions.
