ENGLISH TEAM PROFILE

🌟 Definition :
English Team is an organization that operates under the supervision of the
Language Unit. This organization's goal is to assist the Language Unit in
developing the English abilities of all cadets, and also stands as one of the
Maritime English provider, which concerns to deliver and educate about
Maritime English for the cadets.
The Language Unit and the English Team have various regular yearly work
programs to enhance cadet’s abilities in English based, such as SEASFEST;
Competition and English Camp, SEASCOURSE, Workshop ; Speaking and
Writing Skills, Dies Natalis English Competition, and more.

To be the most extraordinary of English language provider for the cadets of STIP
JAKARTA

To open the opportunities through English language in an environment where
everyone is being respected, actively engaged in learning and oriented to
achieve success.

Division in English Team :

⭐ Chief : The chief is responsible for leading and managing the overall
operations, including :
✅ Make a regular work program.
✅ Ensure that the English team's upcoming agenda follows their well-
planned schedule.
✅ Supervise the performance of every division (but in this case, the chief
has an authority to mandate his vice to make sure/double check the task
that is being altogether carried out by each division)

⭐ Vice : The main duty as a vice is to make sure that each division under their
command runs their regular task clearly and properly, and in the next
phases, the vice will be making both weekly and monthly report about the
work performance of each division to the chief.
Since the English Team has many divisions, there are two different person
that will occupy as the first vice and the second vice.

• The First Vice is responsible for supervising PR, Speech, and Magazine
division.
• The Second Vice is responsible for supervising Terminology, Wallpost,
Cyber, English Course division.

⭐ 1. Public Relation
They will be responsible for English event which will be carried out either
from STIP or from other institutions, so they will be acting as a
bridge to connect, collect, and spread information.
Also, this division is in charge of using all forms of communication to
socialize and deliver important information about events or activities
that will be held either internally by the English Team or externally by other
institutions.

⭐ 2. Magazine Division
This division is responsible of making a magazine known as STREAM “STIP
Real Activity Magazine”, which will be published twice a year. The
content of the magazine itself is all about the news in STIP, maritime
worlds, tips and trick, and many more.

⭐ 3. Speech Division
This division is responsible for improving cadet’s English skills, especially
their speaking abilities by making a regular schedule to have the cadets
deliver their speech every Monday to Thursday.

⭐ 4. Wallpost Division
This division is responsible for providing information or knowledge about
the maritime world, global issues, and entertainment in the wall magazine
which will be uploaded on Instagram & be posted in the wall magazine
next to the language unit room and it’ll be replaced each month.

⭐ 5. Cyber Division
This division is responsible for producing high-quality graphic designs for
some publications, ET event’s posters, educational materials, and other
IT's stuffs.

⭐ 6. Terminology
This division is responsible for delivering learning materials related to
each department; Nautical, Technical, and Port & Shipping Management.

⭐ 7. English Course
This division is responsible for assisting one of the Language Unit
programs called “SEASCOURSE”, in order to improve and enhance
the English skills for every cadet.

ENGLISH TEAM LOGO AND ITS MEANING

✨ VOX, which refers to Voice, means that we must be active in expressing

our opinions, innovations, and new ideas, which will later support the
progress of the English Team's performance.

✨ INTELEGENCIA means intelligence. Being a smart person is needed in

English Team because we are a role model to every cadet.

✨ CHARITAS means family. We must maintain our relationship by

caring, assisting, and expressing sympathy and empathy other ET’s
members. We are Family, not just an organization. This organization is
your second home.

✨ Yellow color leaves an impression of happiness, optimism, and

creativeness.

✨ Blue color leaves an impression of responsibility and trust.

✨ Grain leaves an impression that English Team presence is as provider to

serve and fulfill the needs of English skills for STIP cadets.

✨ Shield means as a symbol of struggle, defense, and self-protection to

achieve goals.

WINGS OF ENGLISH TEAM

There are 2 objects in the wings of English Team, including an open book and
an anchor. The book symbolizes for knowledge and education, while the anchor
symbolizes for strength. One interpretation of the overall message is that
"power lies in knowledge". The English Team’ wings was created by our senior,
Yohanes Simanjuntak from STIP Batch 52.
