PMT AUTOMATIC DESANDING / PRECLEANER SYSTEM
Most of the palm oil mille, even though with sand cyclone or pre cleaner (manual type) in
operation to remove sand and other abrasive materials, face severe wear and tear problem in
the oil room. This is because the efficiency of sand removal is dependent on what method to
desand and time duration to desand,
PMT Automatic Desanding / Pre cleaner System or PAD System is design mainly for Palm Oil
mills who look toward automation to eliminate the dependent on labour and modernization In
the process control.
PAD System is totally automatic and the discharge of the Pre Cleaner (Sand Cyclone) can be
Programmed to the interval required at the control panel.
‘Summing up the advantages of PAD System.
= Pessibility of abrasive materials being carried over is eliminated, this prevents unnecessary
wear and tear.
- Uninterrupted operation : big opening gives less oil loss.
- Opening is also being relieved of the burden of manual discharge every 20-30 minutes
(depending on amount of abrasive materials). More often than that not, this is not being
carried outINSTALLATION AND OPERATION
The installation is straight forward and can be coupled to existing precieaners readily.
Actuators are mounted on to valve B and D using brackets supplied and solenoid valve is
filtered to the flushing water line. The whole system can be start operate by just press “START”
button on the Control Panel

The separation action is based on centrifugal force which is obtained by introducing the
feed tangentially. This causes the dirt to settle into the Waste Receiver "E” by gravity. This
makes it necessary to wash out the waste receiver every 15 to 20 minutes depending on
the quantity of dirt in the system.
START UP (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM)
All valves in the piping to and from the Pre-Cleaner should be open.
1. Close Valve D — Open Valve B
2. Open Valve A and fill in with water in Dirt receiver box.
3. Close Valve A.
4, Start Pump and open Sludge Inlet Valve slowly , make sure no leakage
at the system,
5. The inlet valve and the outlet valve is adjusted to maintain required pressure
drop by adjusting valve P proper amount of liquid to be accepted is maintained,
Note
Recirculation pipe can be installed to get pressure drop ( depending on the piping
system installation ),‘SAND FLUSHING
For every 15 of 20 minutes ( depending to the sand content ).The unit must be
flushed out and the procedures below can be follow
1. Close Valve B.
2. Open Valve D.
3, Open Valve A.
Until sand clear from the sand receiver.
BACK TO OPERATION
1. Close Valve D.
2. Close Valve A after sand receiver fil-up with water.
3. Open Valve B.

/ \ WARNING
Never disassemble the pre-cleaner before confirming that the pre-cleaner
has been stopped completely and also turning off the power supply.
Because the unit are operated under high pressure sludge and hot water.
Itmay cause a dangerous accident resulting in serious injures or death.
