IRREGULAR PLURALS Traductor

Basic knowledge

Plural in en/-ren:

an ox/oxen

a child/children

Vocalic plural (change of vowel):

a man/men

a woman/women

a foot/feet

a tooth/teeth

To form the plural of nouns ending in consonant + y, we add -ies to the singular:

a lady/ladies

a family/families

a country/countries

Be careful - nouns ending in vowel + y have a regular plural :
