PROPOSAL
Suggested Research Title: Generator Energy Sources
Name of group members : Muhammad Wafi bin Hasnom
: Eusoff bin Anuwar Ridza
Group Name : XScape
Research Problem
The problem faced is that motorcycle drivers (food delivery) often
use smartphones while driving. This is because, they need to use the
Global Positioning System (GPS) to find out the delivery location. This
causes motorcycle drivers to drive with one hand. this is very
dangerous. In addition, the smartphone used will run out of battery and
the driver will not be able to charge his phone while on the motorcycle.
This also burdens motorcycle drivers (food delivery) because they are
often on motorcycles.
hypothesis: The faster the fan spins, the more electricity is produced.
When more electricity is produced, the phone charging time to full is
shorter.
Research objective:
1. To make it easier for the driver to charge his phone while on the
motorcycle.
2. Can save electricity to use the phone because the phone is charged
using a renewable energy source which is the wind.
3. Reduce the risk of accidents because the driver does not need to hold
the phone while driving the motorcycle.
Literature Review
According to Huang S., et al.(2022) renewable energy has
shown promising results over the past few decades in
reducing carbon emissions worldwide. From the past several
decades, the wind energy sector has grown dramatically over
with globally installed wind capacity increasing from 24 GW
in 2001 to 651 GW in 2019. Nature energy was harvested by
renewable energy conversion system and convert it to
electrical energy. In the case of wind energy, generator was
rotated by the wind movement and converts kinetic energy
to electrical energy. Wind energy, albeit clean and
inexhaustible, still faces a lot of challenges on the industrial
level Koay Y.Y., Tan J.D., Koh S.P., Chong K.H., Tiong S.K.,
Ekanayake J,(2020).
Against the backdrop of global carbon reduction,
national-level policies to implement low-carbon and the
intelligent transformation of energy systems have been
introduced by countries and regions led by Central Europe
and China. These countries will increase the proportion of
renewable energy in the energy supply process as the
primary measure to reduce carbon emissions from energy
systems, P. Fragkos, et al (2021). However, weather factors
has affected renewable energy generation significantly such
as wind power, and has uncertainty, which hurts the low-
carbon scheduling of the energy system. In order to
effectively consume new energy sources, such as wind power,
and improve the economy and low-carbon ecology of the
energy system, an integrated energy system (IES) with
multiple complementary energy sources as the core has
emerged, Y. Sun, B. Zhang, L. Ge, D. Sidorov, J. Wang, Z.
Xu, (2020).
Research of Methodology
This innovation study was carried out by innovating the smart
phone holder by placing a generator and fan on the back of the phone
holder. The fan driven by the wind aims to move the generator when the
motorcycle moves at a certain speed. When the generator is driven by
the power of the wind, electricity will be produced. The electricity is
then channeled through a wire to the charging module. The charger wire
connected to the smartphone is also connected to the charging module.
This situation allows electricity to be channeled to smart phones. The
components need to be installed completely in order to function as
stated above. This product will be tested for functionality and
effectiveness by 5 employees at MRSM Bagan Datuk. This test was
conducted at MRSM Bagan Datuk. The materials used are smart
phones, telephone chargers, charging modules, negative and positive
wires, generators, fans and smart phone holders. This study took a
period of 6 months.
Data / Observations
Conclusion/ Application
Overall, this project makes it easier for motorcyclists to use
their smartphones if the battery runs out while riding a motorcycle.
motorcyclists do not need to use external electricity but instead use
renewable energy that is produced by the wind. This can also save
electricity thus reducing the earth's temperature because the use of
electricity produces heat.
COST OF PRODUCTION:
BIL. MATERIALS COST
1. charging modules RM3.50
2. negative and positive wires RM1
3. generator RM15
4. fan RM5
5. Smart phone holder RM8.70
TOTAL COST RM33.20
