DURATION January to December 2024
RATIONALE The process of planning, performance assessment, and recognizing
outstanding teachers is vital in the educational system for a multitude of
reasons.
Conducted Planning:
Improves Teaching Efficiency: Planning ensures that educators have a
clear roadmap to guide their teaching, helping them cover necessary
content within stipulated time frames.
Addresses Diverse Needs: By planning, teachers can consider the
various learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds of their students, thus
making lessons more inclusive and accessible.
Sets Clear Objectives: It helps in identifying what students should know
or be able to do by the end of a lesson or course.
Resource Management: Proper planning ensures that resources, both
material and human, are used optimally and efficiently.
Adaptable Strategy: A well-laid-out plan provides a framework, but it
also offers the flexibility to adapt when unforeseen challenges or
opportunities arise.
Performance Assessment:
Tracks Progress: Regular assessments provide feedback on the
effectiveness of teaching and learning. This helps in understanding
where the students are in their learning journey.
Feedback for Improvement: Assessments give students feedback on
their strengths and areas for improvement. This feedback loop is
essential for continuous learning.
Accountability: It holds educators and institutions accountable for
delivering quality education.
Inform Future Instruction: Assessment results can guide teachers in
adjusting their teaching methods or addressing specific areas that
