NOTE: Disconnect injector multi-plugs before cranking tests, to avoid damage to catalytic converter(s).

Ensure ignition switched OFF.

Remove upper engine cover.
Disconnect ignition coil assembly multi-plug.
Undo and remove ignition coil assembly screws.
Remove ignition coil assembly and spark plugs.
Connect test spark plug to ignition coil.
Connect test spark plug to high-tension lead.
Reconnect ignition coil assembly multi-plug.
Connect wire between spark plug threads and suitable earth.
Briefly crank engine.
Check for strong blue sparks.
If no spark is visible: Carry out high-tension circuit component checks. Refer to General Test Procedures.
Repeat test for other ignition coil.
If no spark is visible: Carry out high-tension circuit component checks. Refer to General Test Procedures.
