Computer Science is the study of the theory of computation, information, algorithms, computational problems, the design of
computer hardware and software, and applications. Computer Science has numerous subsections including artificial
intelligence, software engineering, programming and computer graphic; this includes theory, design, development and
application. Expertise in this field is extremely significant due to a number of reasons: the study of Computer Science helps
develop problem-solving skills, offers many different profitable careers, and knowledge in this field also assists in solving day-
to-day tasks and other important problems. Problem-solving, which is a crucial skill, is the fundamental of Computer Science;
competence in Computer Science enables us to solve complicated and multifaceted problems. Taking into consideration that
problem solving is an important aspect of life, computing is required in order to develop and mature these essential skills.
These tools are mandatory for successfully managing businesses and several other professions, such as engineering,
teaching and medicine. Computational thinking, which refers to breaking down an arduous problem into a list of more
manageable tasks is not only beneficial in solving computational problems, but is also applicable in real life aspects for
instance, fixing mechanical problems, providing service at a workplace, figuring out alternatives to avoid traffic congestion,
detecting the cause of an issue, and meeting deadlines. A degree in the field of Computer Science offers a number of
rewarding and lucrative occupations such as software development which is not only advantageous to the individual but to
society as well; software developers who design and maintain software applications bring about a positive change in the

Statistics, software developers earned a median salary of $105,590 in 2018, and employment was expected to increase by 21%
from 2018 to 2028, which is much faster than the average for other careers. Furthermore, this also causes the unemployment
rate to decrease, therefore leading to an increase in the GDP, and subsequently improving quality of life, and standard of
living. Additionally, Computer Science plays a crucial role in the field of Medicine. The printing of 3-D organs and bones using a
bioprinter generates various types of organs for organ transplants. This has saved an inestimable number of lives. Bioprinting
is a procedure in which bio-ink is placed in a printer cartridge and is then deposited layer-by-layer after the computer uses the
digital model to form a physical 3-D one; biomaterials such as cells fuse together to produce tissue-like structures that
emulate natural tissues. Big hospitals also rely on computer systems to store, process and retrieve detailed medical records
of patients. The functioning and maintenance of most medical equipment in hospitals such as bed beeping systems,
emergency alarm systems, x-ray machines and dental engines also requires the aid of computers. In conclusion, studying
Computer Science is important because it leads to the betterment of society; it aids technological advancements and
increases innovativeness amongst people. Moreover, in the near future, it will also help in the advancement of machineries
such as autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence required for prosthetics and energy storing bricks.
