Materials and Tools

 Yarn: 1 or more colors.


I used Schachenmayr ORIGINAL Catania (100% cotton) in cream, red, yellow, white,
brown, pink
Change of colors are only suggestions, you can choose your own color patterns.
 Crochet hook in accordance with the yarn you use.
I used a 2.2 mm hook.
 Stuffing: I use polyester wool and a chopstick to stuff the doll.
 Tapestry needle, scissors.
 Safety eyes 4.00 mm and 6.00 mm
 Stitch marker.
I used thin black thread.
 Black and pink embroidery threads

The body is crocheted an oval spiral.
Start with white yarn.

Attach the safety eyes between rounds 16 and 17 with 8 st
between (fig 3).
•Note: to attach the eyes in the center of the body, skip 13 sts
from the beginning, then attach the first eye. Skip the next 8 sts
and attach the second eye.

Change to yellow yarn.


How to change the color of yarn:
With the two loops from the previous yarn on the hook (fig 4), wrap the new yarn around the
hook, then pull the new yarn through the two loops of the stitch (fig 5).

How to finish:
Using the long tail of yarn, start from second loop. Sew the opening through the front loops by

Embroider the noce using the pink thread.

Don’t stuff the legs. Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.

ASSAMBLING:

- Place the muzzle below the eyes and fix it with pins. Stuff it firmly. Base the one pin on
one round up to make the cheeks (fig 21, 22). Sew the muzzle to body and come back to
your starting point (fig 23). Then insert your needle at the one round up and go out in
the body. Tight the thread a little bit to make the nice form of muzzle.

How to close the end of the round: with a darning needle, insert the remaining yarn through all
the front loops of the stitches on the last round (fig 7). Pull all together at once and sew to hide
the yarn inside the part you are working on.

Crochet 1 sc more after round 15 to be on the corner of head. Then cut the yarn leaving a tail
for closing the gap.
How to finish:
Using the long tail of yarn, start from second loop. Sew the opening through the back loops by
going across each stitch (fig 14, 15, 16).

HAIR (ruffles)

Lay your head with the back side facing you. Work on the remaining front loops from round 13
to 15.

Insert your hook to the first loop of round 13 (fig 17) and pick up the yarn. Crochet a slip stich in
next loop (fig 18). Then make the combination of (3 ch + slst) in next 12 front loops and a sl st in
next 9 loops (fig 20, 21, 22).
•Note: we are going to make the ruffles on front side of head and corners, we should make the
sl st on back side.
Do the same steps in round 14 and 15 (fig 23). Make the ruffles in each of the front loops on last
round (fig 24, 25).
Leave a long tail of yarn for sewing the head to the body.

EARS (make 2)

Change to cream. Do it in the last stitch.

Cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.
Fold the ear in half, sew four stitches together working through both sides as shown in the
photos (fig 26, 27 and 28).

ASEMBLING:

- Sew the ears to head. The base of each ear should fall over round 11 and 12 of the head.
- Sew the head to the body.

Go back to round 17 and work in the front loops. Insert your hook to first loop and pick up the
yarn (fig 10).
Making the shells:
- Start with a sl st, skip the next st, make 5 dc into the next st (fig 11), skip the next st, sl st
to the next st. Repeat the process for 12 times more.
- make 13th shell in last stitch and sl st in firs st.
- You should have 13 shells in total.

BEAK

We are going to make the form of beak during the sewing

BEARD
Crochet 5 chains.
1st piece: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 4 sc (fig 15.
2nd piece: make 5 ch and go back with 4 sc (fig 16).
Join the two pieces with a sl st (fig 17).

Crochet 5 chains.
1st toe: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 4 sc.
2nd toe: make 5 ch (fig 18) and go back with 4 sc.
3rd toe: make 5 ch and go back with 4 sc (fig 19).
Join the three toes with a sl st (fig 20).

From FO the big piece, insert your hook in the 1th stitch (fig 22) and make a sc. Now our pieces
are connected. This stitch will be first the first stitch of new round 4.

ASSAMBLING:

- Base the beak below the eyes on center. Fold it a little bit as show on photo. Sew the
beak to body at the corners (fig 24, 25 and 26).

- Sew the beard to body. Base it on one round up, behind the beak.

The Mrs. Co is crocheted using the same pattern of Mr. Co.
Only rounds 3 and 4 of body are crocheted using back loops, front loops will be used for hair.

HAIR
I suggest you don’t stuff the body before to make the hair. It will be easier to do it.
Go back to round 4. Insert your hook in last front loop and pick up the yarn (fig 1 and 2). Crochet
6 chains: start in the second chain from the hook, inc in each stitch and sl st in next loop (fig 3, 4,
5 and 6). You should have 30 pieces of hair.

Crochet 6 chains. In the second chain from the hook: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 inc dc, 1 hdc and 3 sc in last
chain. Turn your crocheting and work on the other side of foundation: 1 hdc, 1 inc dc, 1 hdc and
1 sc (fig 5).
