Seminar Topic Title: – Enhancing Remote Patient Health Monitoring Through IoT,
Blockchain, and Design Thinking.

ABSTRACT
Monitoring and ensuring the well-being of patients in their homes present unique
challenges. Regular assessment of a patient's health is essential, particularly for elderly
individuals, to enable timely intervention in case of emergencies. This paper proposes a
comprehensive system designed to monitor patients' health using sensor technology and
facilitate real-time communication with their healthcare providers or family members via the
internet during critical situations. This innovative strategy is tailored for individuals who
require continuous supervision without the need for immediate medical attention.
Our system leverages temperature and heartbeat sensors to continuously track a patient's
health status, with a primary focus on scenarios where patients and healthcare providers are
geographically separated, necessitating the transmission of critical patient data to the physician.
When any sudden deviations from the norm occur, such as exceeding preset temperature limits
or irregular heartbeats, the system instantly notifies the healthcare provider through an IoT
device. The healthcare provider can then make informed decisions based on the received data,
potentially preventing health crises.
To ensure the security and integrity of the patient's data, we implement blockchain
technology and smart contracts, safeguarding it against unauthorized access and tampering.
This integration is executed through the principles of Design Thinking (DT), which emphasizes
a human-centered approach to innovation and problem-solving.
