Summary

The ABS-sensor wiring harness for the front brake is available for Focus 2004.75 and C-MAX
2003.75 as a spare part for servicing purposes. If the ABS-sensor wiring harness is
damaged the engine compartment wiring harness may no longer be replaced completely.
This TSB details the necessary steps to install the ABS-sensor wiring harness for the front
brake.

1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional

information, refer to Focus 2004.75 / C-MAX
2003.75 Workshop Manual Section 204-04.
2. Remove the fender splash shield.

3. Cut the ABS-sensor wiring harness 100 mm

away from the installation clip.

4. Insulate the single cables.

• Partially peel back the insulation.

5. Detach the remaining part of the ABS-sensor

wiring harness and discard.

• Disconnect the electrical connector.

• Detach the retaining clips.

6. Cut the connector from the new ABS-sensor
wiring harness (see Parts Required).

7. Slide on the heat shrink and the solder/shrink

connectors (see Parts Required).

8. Crimp the solder/shrink connectors using

crimping pliers.

9. WARNING: Use a heat shield to

prevent damage to adjacent components.
Join the solder/shrink connectors using a hot
air gun.

• Push on the heat shrinks.

• Connect the heat shrinks using a hot air gun.

10. Install the ABS-sensor wiring harness.

11. Install all components in reverse order.
