Advantages of Being an Associate in an Endo Mastery-coached Office

Many new endodontic graduates dream of having their own practices, but are unaware of the
financial, administrative, marketing responsibilities and time burdens associated with practice
ownership. Over the past few years, many dental communities have become saturated with
endodontists and most new doctors struggle to fill their day and keep overhead costs in check.
In the United States, the average owner endodontist earns between 250K to 350K per year
and works 4 to 5 days a week and only takes 2 to 3 weeks’ vacation a year while having all
the management headaches of ownership. They worry about leaving their practices to take a
vacation, fearing they will lose their referring doctors to competing endodontist. They have
less time for their family and carry a staggering amount of debt. Only about 30% of
endodontists understand practice systems and have the temperament and mindset to run an
efficient and profitable practice.
One alternative to ownership is to be a long-term associate. Because of their debt situation,
many new graduates start out as associates and become disillusioned after a year or two
because they work long hours and are poorly compensated. They may work as an associate in
an endodontic practice or corporate office working 4 to 5 days a week with only a few weeks of
vacation a year and only earn between 200K to 300K per year. After taxes, it will take years for
them to eliminate their school debt and pay off their home. In some of these endodontic
practices they earn even less because there is not have enough patient flow to fill the
associate’s schedule. Corporate offices may have plenty of patients, but the associate will often
be expected to travel some distances to work in multiple corporate offices during the week.
Many of these corporate offices will entice new associates with signing bonuses, benefits and a
guaranteed income which last only for the first three months, after which their income can be
substantially reduced if the associate does not meet their production goal.
A better choice is to work for an endodontic practice that has been coached through Endo
Mastery. These are usually single doctor endodontic practices in great locations with a strong
referral base. As an associate, you will start around $300,000 per year with the chance to
make somewhere between $600,000 and $700,000 per year. The goal of these practices is to
help increase their efficiency over time so that the associate can eventually work 3 days a
week instead of 4, take 8 to 10 vacation weeks off a year and earn $400K to $700K per year in
a stress-free office. We call this “retiring in practice”. This will allow the associate to have
plenty of time for family, hobbies, travel, teaching, personal time and living the adventure of
life while still young. As a female endodontic associate, she will not have to worry about taking
time away from the practice for maternity leave.
As an associate in these practices, you will have the clinical freedom and autonomy enjoyed in a
traditional private endodontic practice without the additional financial and administrative
burdens associated with practice management, personnel and salary issues, billing, accounts
receivable or other headaches associated with running an office. You will spend 95% of your
time in direct patient care, but still have input in the decision-making of the office. This allows
you to spend more time with your family and do the things you love, offering you the luxury of
a better work/life balance.
In an Endo Mastery coached practice, you will be given the opportunity to participate in
learning and implementing the Endo Mastery marketing system, which expands the referral
base and provides a consistently busy and productive schedule. You will have the opportunity
to learn from a very successful and skilled endodontist and be part of one of the most
successful and modern endodontic practices in the country. You will learn Dr. Ace Goerig’s
Endo Mastery systems and clinical efficiencies which will give you a solid foundation in
endodontic practice, allowing you to work less and earn more during your career. The owner
doctor and team show you the smart alternatives to managing difficult cases and patients.
Because of their strong marketing program many of their referrals send all their endodontic
cases, resulting in many easy treatments.
You don’t need to worry about the personal and financial headaches of opening your own
practice or the burden of going further into debt with another $500,000 to start your own
practice and no guarantee of success. These Endo Mastery practices are committed to debt
reduction and will teach you all the tools to help you become completely debt free within 5 to 7
years, including the elimination all school loans and a home mortgage that is paid off.
This is a long-term associate position with the possibility of an equity position after seven years.
In the contract, there will be a “covenant not to compete”; this does not take effect until after
the first 90 days to help ensure this relationship works for both parties.
The Endo Mastery coached practice is typically located in a beautiful area of the country where
you will want to live, work and raise your family. Most are conveniently located between the
urban luxuries of a metropolitan city and the beautiful outdoors.
