The Senior Chiet Medical Ofticer Aizawl °E', Aizawl W", Champhai, Kolasib, Lavemgtlai, Lunglei, Mami, Serchhip & ‘Subjs Observation of World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) 2023 -reg, ‘Sid/Madam, As you may aware, the World Patient Safety Day is observed on 17 September every year in ‘the light of World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution, fo keep patient safety as a key strategic priority in the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda. This year’s theme for the occasion is “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety” in view of recognising the central role that the patients their families, and caregivers play in advancing safe care, For giving importance to patient safety and staff safety, the following activities may be planned bby the District Quality Assurance Units and the health fail 1) Including Patient Safety as a theme in “Health Meta” in the week starting from 11*-17% September 2023. The theme will focus on creating awareness at the community level in the efforts to sensitise the people on the crucial role patients, families, and caregivers play in ‘ensuring safety of health care. 2) Taking pledge on “Primum non nocere — First do no harm”. The activity may be captured in ‘video showing the name of the facility inthe background, or a banner showing the name of the facili 3) Home visits by frontline healthcare workers for care of patients on palliative care with focus on safety during “Sewa Saptaah’.
