IDENTITY OF MALACHI
- Jewish Encyclopedia Implied that Malachi preached at around 420 BC.
- The Talmud and the Aramaics identify Ezra as Malachi.
- According to Iosephus, Ezra died and was buried “in a magnificent manner” in Jerusalem.
- Others refer that Malachi was a separate person, might be a Levite and a member of the Great
Assembly.

- Malachi describes a priesthood that is forgetful and neglect its duties.
- A Temple that is underfunded because the faithful have lost interest in it.
