B) Professional information:
1. Overall aims of the course:
The course covers the concept and need of drug information, types of drug information
resources (primary, secondary and tertiary literature), computerized and online drug
information, literature evaluation and critical appraisal, retrieval of information. It also
aims at providing the students with the professional skills required to effectively and
accurately answer medication-related questions in a systematic and evidence-based
approach.
This course provides the knowledge and skills enabling them to develop professional
competencies in the recognition and discussion of the pharmacological aspects of drug-drug,
drug-chemical, drug-herb or drug-food interactions and their clinical significance as well as
.the application of that knowledge to minimize the risk and outcome of interactions
