    This study investigated the effects of UV radiation on photosynthetic pigments and UV absorbing compounds in Capsicum longum. The researchers found that UV radiation caused a decrease in chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and carotenoid levels. It also led to an increase in UV absorbing compounds such as flavonoids and phenolic compounds, which help protect the plant from UV damage. The results show that C. longum has developed strategies like increasing protective pigments to cope with UV radiation.
