Thank You for purchasing PartyGameIdeas.com Baby Shower Taboo
Baby Shower Taboo game includes 102 cards, 6 blank cards and 1 How to play / instructions.

What is needed for our Baby Shower Taboo like game.

Printer, Paper, Bowl, Timer, Buzzer

Game Prep and How to Play

1. HOST
a. Print out and cut up the102 cards. Extra blanks cards are given so you can add any personal references to the game – you do
not need to use the blank cards. Fold cards and place in bowl.
b. You’ll need to time each turn so designate someone to manage the timer on their phone eaither 30 or 20 (large group and
copetitive) seconds.
c. You’ll need a buzzer – You many use buzzer or noisemaker from another game or download an app to a phone or tablet so
that guests can hit the buzzer if a taboo word is used during game play.

GAME PLAY
2. Form 2 Teams
3. Let the guests know they are going to play Baby Shower Taboo.
Each player will pull a card from the bowl and try to get their team (Say Team A) to guess the word at the top of the card
without using any form of that word or the taboo terms listed on the card. A player from the other team (Team B) sits next to
the player from Team A to make sure they don’t use any taboo terms and if they do they buzz a buzzer or make a sound like a
crying baby. We recommend 30 seconds per turn, but if you want to be competitive 20 seconds speeds the game up.
- If the player is successful in getting their team to guess the card – Their team scores 1 point.
- If the player uses a taboo term and the other team catches them – The other team scores 1 point
- If time runs out and no one got the answer – 0 points are awarded.

4. Players can not use hand gestures or sounds to indicate the clue word.
5. Once a card is pulled from the bowl (box, container) and seen, it must be placed in the discard pile.
6. Game Tip – Rather than writing down points for each round, give the winning slips to each team to place on a pile and count
the total at the end of the game.
7. Play until everyone has had at least 1 turn and/or play for a set amount of time – 15 – 20 minutes.
8. At the end of the game total up the points (1 per card) and the team with the most points wins.

Tie Breaker Idea:

In case of a tie ask each team to have one player come forward and give each player a pen and paper.
The Host pulls a card from the bowl and offers a 1 word clue.
From there each player writes down what they think the word is within 15 seconds. At the same time, they reveal their answers
and if one team gets it correct that team wins.
If both teams are wrong, they switch players and another clue is given. Continue until you have a winner.
- If they both get it on the same clue, play another round or declare both teams winners.
