3. Item Description
* This procedure apply to all steel plate. But stainless steel, Galvanized steel or machined or wearing surface
will not be painted.
4.1 The main aims in the preparation of a metal surface prior to painting may be defined as follows;
4.1.1 The complete removal of all foreign matter, e.g. scale, grease, cutting, oil, soil, welding
spatter, etc.
4.1.2 The conditioning of the texture of the surface so as to render if suitable forwards the
painting that is to be applied.
4.1.3 The pretreatment must import uniformity throughout all treated surfaces, irrespective of
the source of the metal or of the contaminants that might adhere. As with other methods of organic
finishing, attention to the pretreatment stage is essential in order to achieve the full potentialities of
the painting.
S 1/ 5
Al Khalij 4x350MW POWER PLANT PROJECT
If necessary, unpainted surface shall be mechanically hand cleaned according to this schedule
before the chemical cleaning (Alkali degreasing). The basic requirements for mechanical hand
cleaning is that all loose mill scale, rust, weld spatter and foreign matter shall be removed by
scrapping, hammering, brushing, grinding and etc. using to be used as hand tools. If metal were
thoroughly covered rust and mill scale shall be applied acid cleaning. The work piece should be
dipped with an acid solution in a nine stage. Operation i.e. alkali degrease, rinse, acid cleaning, rinse,
neutralization, rinse, phosphate and two times water rinse. But, if possible, have not to be used work
piece covered rust or mill scale.
Alkali degreasing is the first step in the preparation of metallic surface for painting. The work
piece can be sprayed with a hot aqueous solution of a suitable alkali mixture. And then the removal of
grease and oil is carried out.
The recognized pretreatment for steel substrates just prior application of powder is phosphate
coating.
LSIS uses Fe phosphate coating.
The work piece can be either dipped or sprayed with a hot aqueous solution of a suitable acid
mixture-H, PO4, ZN (H2PO4)2 , NaNO2 etc.
Phosphate coatings give the excellent adhesion of the painting on the metal, good corrosion
resistance and mechanical properties.
In general, coating weights of zinc phosphate is 100∼200mg/sq.ft (1∼ 2 g/㎡).
S 2/ 5

Switchgear & MCC are safe and effective when proper precautions are taken. Hazardous
voltages and energy levels exist and may cause death or injury if precautions are not
followed
1. Never work around live or energized bus. Do not remove bolted covers, bolted doors, or
bolted access plates when the equipment is energized. Live bus is enclosed behind metal
panel and these panels should not be removed unless the bus is de-energized.
2. Never use a circuit breaker rated at a different voltage from the equipment. Never use a
lower interrupting rating than the system is designed for.
3. Only qualified personnel should maintain or operate switchgear and MCC. Maintenance
personnel should be qualified to work around medium & low voltage equipment and
familiar with switchgear & MCC in general. Operators should be trained in the proper use
of switchgear and MCC and its components. Both should have electrical shock and burn
medical training.
4. Do not lift shutters when switchgear is energized. Dangerous voltage exists behind
shutters. They are automatically close when breaker is removed to prevent accidental
contact.
5. Do not insert partially disassembled breakers, test breakers, ground and test devices or
other items into an energized cell. Tests using these devices must only be conducted when
main bus is de-energized.
7. Never disconnect or open the secondary of current transformers when they are on
energized circuits. High voltages will develop between contacts. Keep spare current
transformers shorted on their secondary.
8. When circuits are opened for maintenance, repair or inspection, lock circuit breakers or
disconnect switches in the open position and tag or mark to let others know that it is locked
open for safety purpose, In addition, bus should be grounded to prevent accidents due to
accidental closure or back feeding.
This instruction manual describes general and basic matters required for packing,
storage, installation, operation, maintenance and inspection of the product to secure
safety of operator and optimal operation of the product.
The manual shall be known well in parallel with relevant drawings and documents
provided additionally.
Switchgear & MCC are panels of protection for power distribution systems.
Properly designed Switchgear & MCC will limit the extent of outages, prevent serious
fault current damage, and protect lives and property all at a reasonably small cost.
The major elements in Switchgear & MCC are the circuit breakers, bus and cable,
relays, control equipments and the metal-clad or metal-enclosed structure itself.
All elements have different functions but their combined purpose is to deliver power
with minimum outages while at the same time reacting quickly to interrupt short circuit
currents before serious damage can occur to other devices.
Circuit breakers are the actual circuit interruption devices. In a typical system each
feeder will have a separate circuit breaker while each incoming line will also have a
breaker.
These are designed to limit the fault current through them while at the same time allow
normal currents to flow.
Bus and cable are the actual method of power distribution. Current flows through them
and they are insulated from ground and each other as appropriate for their voltage level.
Relays are the sensors of the system. They react to voltage, current, frequency, or other
system conditions.
When those conditions match predetermined levels the relays will initiate tripping of
The structure of Switchgear and MCC service multiple functions. It protects all the
elements from damage or environmental influences. It protects a person from voltages
and energies that is harmful. It isolates sections of the Switchgear & MCC from each
other.
Finally in supports the various devices and provides a mounting position for them.
The equipment is designed for exposure to dripping liquids but dripping liquids can
destroy the integrity of the insulation and must be avoid.
2 PACKING
Note the warning and caution printed on the crate. Lifting angles are bolted on the top of
the Switchgear & MCC.
Use them to the lift and transfer the crate in accordance with lifting marks on the crate
before the unpacking.
During transportation, particular care should be taken not to let fall down the Switchgear
or MCC because of gravity is relatively high.
3.1 Receiving
When the Switchgear & MCC arrives inspect the equipment for damage. Should any
shipping damage be found a claim should be filed with the shipping company and a
manufacturer representative notified as soon as possible.
The Switchgear & MCC should be compared to the packing list to assure all parts have
arrived. Note small items may be packed with larger ones.
This will be noted on the shipping documentation.
3.2 Handling
Before handling refer to the drawings for approximate weight of shipping sections.
Care should be taken to avoid damaging the switchgear during handling operations.
Use only equipment rated for lifting the weights involved, and crews skilled with heavy
lifting of large electrical equipment.
Prior to uncrating, the equipment may be moved by a crane using slings under the
crate. Rollers under crate skids would also be an acceptable method of moving
Switchgear & MCC section.
After uncrating the switchgear shipping sections should be moved by cranes using chain
and spreader bars. Breakers generally have their own lifting eyes.
Dragging or skidding Switchgear & MCC along the ground may damage foundations,
warp enclosure and fling dirt or rocks into the Switchgear & MCC.
Improper lifting or failure to use spreader bars may cause damage to the enclosure by

3.3 Storage
If the equipment is to be stored for any length of time excess of a few days in should be
prepared for storage and stored under the following conditions.
Uncrate the Switchgear & MCC but leave any protective plastic in place
Choose a clean dry location free from harmful vapors. Switchgear & MCC should be
stored on a flat floor to prevent warp-age.
Do not store directly on the dirt or mud. Some covering should be on the ground under
the Switchgear & MCC.
Cover with heavy traps to keep dust or dirt from settling. Allow adequate ventilation to
remove condensation.
If severe weather conditions are encountered (snow-heavy, rains, high winds) Switchgear
& MCC should be stored inside a shelter of building.
Batteries and breakers should be stored under the requirements of their respective
instruction books.
In general those requirements are more stringent than switchgear requirements.

4 INSTALLATION
4.1 Installation
On commencement of installation on site, the switch-room must be completely finished,
provided with lighting and the electricity supply, lockable, dry and with facilities for
ventilation.
All the necessary preparations, such as well openings, ducts, etc., for laying the power
and control cables up to the Switchgear & MCC must already be complete.
Where switchgear panels have top-mounted structures for earthing switches or
instrument transformers, it must be ensured that ceiling height is sufficient for the opening
travel of the pressure relief plates.
4.2 Foundations
Before placing the Switchgear & MCC the foundation must be poured and settled. The
mounting area of the Switchgear & MCC should be level to plus or minus 2mm.
This is true whether Switchgear & MCC are mounted directly to the pad, is resting on
imbedded rails or any other type of mounting.
An area stretching 1.2m in front of the Switchgear & MCC must be leveled to plus or
minus 3mm for indoor Switchgear & MCC.
Unleveled foundation may cause improper operation of doors and potential transformer
cabinets. Weatherproof seals may not align correctly.
Breakers may not roll in and out [up and down for air magnetic] properly. Section
alignment and bus connections will be much more difficult.
MCC units may not roll in and out [up and down for air magnetic] properly.
Section alignment and bus connections will be much more difficult.
Unleveled arrears in front of indoor sections may interfere with doors, rolling in breakers
and potential transformer compartments.
For indoor Switchgear & MCC it is recommended that there be no protuberances [i.e.
conduits, wiring, ground connectors] sticking above the level of the concrete, although for
those purposes holes are file.
This will prevent problems when the equipment is placed. Since outdoor switchgear is
mounted on its own skid, this is less of a problem and some protuberances may be wanted
for other reasons.
All concrete preparation work should be done prior to placing any Switchgear & MCC.
This would include leveling, drilling holes and finishing.
In addition to the physical problems of doing concrete work after placing the Switchgear
& MCC, concrete work will generate dust that is harmful to the Switchgear & MCC.
4.3 Placement
Prior to placing Switchgear & MCC on the foundation, all packing and crating material
should be removed.
In Switchgear & MCC of more than 2 shipping section the center section should be
placed first. Switchgear & MCC sections should be placed before aisle section
Position and align the first section of Switchgear & MCC. It is important that the first
section be aligned correctly, as the other sections will be matched to it.
Alternate placing sections on either side of the center section. Each section should be
aligned when placed.
After the sections have been placed; check to see that they are level and plumb.
Should they be out of level or out of plumb, shims should be inserted at the point where
the Switchgear & MCC will be fastened to the foundation. Shim the Switchgear & MCC
until it is both level and plumb.
Remove all temporary bracing and shipping supports. These items have been painted a
different color to aid in identification
4.4 Assembly
- TABLE A -
Train the cables in the proper path to the terminals, using temporary clamping device if
required, and cut to the proper length. Strip the insulation to the desired dimension, being
careful not to damage any strands.
Both the cable terminal connects to the ends of the bars in the rear compartment.
A non-oxidizing lubricant can be used at these connection surfaces.
※Caution!
• Remove all blocking on relays and devices
• Make a final inspection to see that there are not tools, construction materials, or
other foreign matter left in the Switchgear & MCC.
※ Note!
If spare current transformers are in the system with no loads, leave shorted to avoid
developing high voltage across secondary terminals. Never leave the secondaries of
current transformers open.
4.4.6 Fuses
Power fuses used as isolation devices, potential transformer protection or high side
control power transformer protection is taped in place prior to shipment. Remove tape and
lift fuses to make sure they are removable.
• Before connecting the incoming cable, open the primary circuit breaker at first.
• Remove the cover plate for incoming cable and then pull the incoming cable up to
the terminal end of the circuit breaker sufficiently.
• Considering diameter and number of the incoming cable, perforate a penetration
hole for cable entrance. Especially, in case of using cable gland, perforate a
penetration hole based on outer diameter of the gland.
• Within the panel, the length of the incoming cable shall be adjusted in consideration
of the extent of wire bending radius. In case of bending the incoming cable almost
perpendicularly at lower part of panel, pay attention not to destroy insulation of the
cable.
• Penetrate the incoming cable through the perforated cover plate and fix to it.
• At the connection of the cable to the terminal, refer to the mounting bolt torque
standard in ‘Table 4’ for the extent of bolt fastening.
• When connecting the power cable, it is recommended to treat ending part with
termination kit (RAYCHEM, 3M or equipment). Refer to the following figure for the
distance from the ending part;
A : Power Cable
B : Cable Clamp
Min. 580mm
4.4.11 Cleaning
The Switchgear & MCC should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent problems later on. All
garbage, paper, loose parts, etc. should be removed from the Switchgear & MCC. Ti is
recommended that the Switchgear & MCC be vacuumed out to remove dust and dirt. Wipe
down main bus insulation with clean rags.
Do not use paint thinner, lacquer thinner or aromatic solvents such a Benzene, Xylene,
Trichlor, Triclene, MEK, MIBK, Toluol Benzol, Acetone or Carbon Tetrachloride as these
will damage insulation.
Acceptable cleaning fluids include Freon TF, denatured alcohol, Iso Propyl or VM & P
Naptha.
High potential testing is not required but if desired it should be followed according to IEC.
standards. Potential and control power transformers must be disconnected during this test.
Circuit breakers should be meggered prior to energization. Phase to phase and phase to
ground insulation resistance must be at least 200 megohms.
5 OPERATION
※ Warning
Do not walk on the top surfaces of the switchgear panels
(Rupture points for pressure relief).
The pressure relief devices could be damaged.
5.1 Commissioning
• Check the general condition of the Switchgear & MCC for any damage or defects.
• Visually inspect the switching devices, withdrawable parts, isolating contacts,
insulating parts, etc.
• Check connection of the main earthing bar to the installation earthing conductor
(following the appropriate safety regulations).
• Check the paintwork for damage and, where necessary, touch up as necessary part.
• Remove all residues of materials, foreign bodies and tools from the Switchgear &
MCC.
• Clean the Switchgear & MCC, rubbing down insulating parts with a soft, dry, clean,
non-fraying cloth. Remove any greasy or sticky dirt
• Correctly remount all covers etc. removed during assembly and testing procedures.
• Power cables
• Auxiliary cables

• Remote control system
• Switchgear & MCC room equipment
• Switchgear & MCC room conditions
5.1.2 Start-up
• Comply with all relevant safety regulations.
• Ensure that the circuit-breakers in the system are in the OFF position.
• Remove any existing earthing and short circuiting connections in the critical
switching area.
• Energize the feeder cables.
• Connect the Switchgear & MCC step by step, observing the signals and indicators.
• Check that relative conductors are in phase, where necessary, when there are several
incoming feeder cables and Switchgear & MCC section.
• Carry out all measurements and check all functions which depend on high voltage
power supply being connected.
• Watch out for irregularities of any kind.
※ Note :
The withdrawable part must not be stopped in any intermediate position in the
travel range between the service and test/disconnected position!
Manual withdrawal from the service position into the test/disconnected position:
• Ensure that the apparatus is in the OFF position.
• Reverse the procedure described above for insertion into the service position.
※ Important note:
Insertion and withdrawal of circuit-breakers or MCC(and other withdrawable
parts) must be gradual, in order to avoid any shocks which could deform the
mechanical interlock. If the operations are prevented, do not force the interlocks
and check that the operating sequence is correct. Please also refer to the technical
documentation of the circuit-breakers for installation operations.
※ Caution :
The insertion and withdrawal must always be carried out with the apparatus open!
Withdrawal from the test/disconnected position onto the service truck:
• Open the door of the circuit-breaker compartment.
• Release control wiring plug and place it in the storage position on the withdrawable
part.
• Position service truck at the correct height facing the panel front.
• Draw the withdrawable part out onto the service truck and secure it in the catches on
the truck.
• Release the service truck from the Switchgear & MCC panel.
• Secure the position of the shutters with padlock.
Relay and meters function automatically to measure and record the systems information.
Should any system variable exceed preset limits, the relaying will trip appropriate breakers.
In some cases relays must be reset by hand. In addition, some relays may operate lockout
relays and prevent operation of the breaker until the lockout relay is reset. Refer to
schematic drawings for particulars of the relaying system.
Under normal conditions space heaters will be operating. Space heaters help reduce
condensation by elevating the switchgear slightly above ambient temperature. Space
heaters that fail should be replaced as soon as possible
5.5 Bus
Live bus is behind bolted panels. Never remove these panels until the bus has been de-
energized. Review construction drawings before doing any work. These will show which
barriers must be removed to reach any particular bus. Switchgear & MCC bus has been
sectionalized to isolate any shorts, overvoltages, or other effects and limit their effect.
Always replace barriers when work has been completed.
Megger bus, phase to phase, and phase to ground. Record the results as well as the
temperature and the humidity in a maintenance log for the Switchgear & MCC. Readings
will help show if there is any progressive deterioration of the insulation.
Inspect bus insulation for signs of deterioration. Cracking, crazing, tracking, residue
deposition or discoloration are signs of degradation. Paying particular attention to areas
around bus supports, bus insulators, bus joins, and bus connections. After inspection, wipe
bus with clean rags.
Do not use paint thinner, lacquer thinner or aromatic solvents such as Benzene, Xylene,
Trichlor, Triclene, MEK, MIBK, Tolvol. Benzol, Acetone or Carbon Tetrichloride as these
will damage insulation.
Potential transformers and power fuses are mounted on slide out carts. Cart operation ins
such that potential transformers or fuses are disconnected from the primary circuits,
grounded by the action of pulling or tilting the cart out. The carts should be checked to see
that they operate smoothly. Potential transformer fuses or power fuses should be check to
assure the have not opened.
The earthing switch-has a snap closing mechanism which is independent of the rotation of
the drive shaft. An earthing switch allocated to a circuit-breaker is only enabled for
switching when withdrawable part is in the test/disconnected position or removed from the
switchgear panel.
※ Caution!
If the operation is prevented, do not force the interlock and check that the operation
sequence is correct.
• Fit operating lever onto hexagonal shaft, which is now released for operation.
※ Note:
Put operating lever in pointed upwards or downwards on the hexagonal shaft so that
there is sufficient room for movement of the operating lever even if space is limited
at the sides.
• Turn the lever clockwise through approx. 180° until the stop is reached to
close the earthing switch, or anticlockwise until the stop is reached to open the
earthing switch.
• Observe the mechanical switch position indicator.
• Remove operating lever. Slide remains open if the earthing switch is in the
closed position.
Make sure that the operating lever is turned right up to the stop in the opening
process, to ensure that the earthing switch is in its defined limit position.
To earth the busbars, earthing switches are used, same as line earthing switch. Their
operating mechanism is identical to that of the line earthing switches.

After the equipment has been installed and all connections have been made, it should be
tested and inspected before putting it in service. The equipment and devices have been
made to ensure that the equipment has been properly installed and that all connections are
correct.
Guidance of testing devices such as relays, instruments and meters are given in the
instruction attached with O & M manual.
The settings of the protective relay must be set according to relay’s setting table.
The operation of the breaker with its associated devices may be tested in the unit while
the equipment is energized by racking the breaker into the test position and engaging the
secondary coupler.
This is accomplished by lowering the handle on the right-hand side of the breaker
mechanism and pushing forward until the coupler engages.
High potential tests to check the integrity of the insulation are not necessary if the
insulation instructions in this book are carefully followed.
If the purchaser desire to make high potential tests, the test voltage should not exceed
75% of factory test voltage in accordance with IEC.
Potential transformers, and control power transformers, must be disconnected during high
voltage testing, When bus ground studs and caps are furnished, the caps are removed in
order to attach grounding cables.
The purchaser must replace the ground stud caps after testing and/or maintenance is
complete.

against dropped tools and scrap-wire, and inadvertent touch of live part.
- Place insulation between the live section of the circuit and the section to be worked on.
- Wear rubber gloves on both hands (and wear rubber boots).
• Work with the right hand as much as possible, and take care not to lose your balance.
A loss of balance due to the movement of the ship can cause an accident.
• Station someone who can cut the power off immediately in an emergency, and
establish a signal between yourself and that person.
DANGER
Fire Extinguishing
• Cut off the power to the circuit or device from which the fire began.
• Cut off the power to other circuit or devices which may be damaged by the fire,
including those which could be damaged if the fire spreads.
• Do not cut off power to any devices which could cause a serious accident if deprived
of power.
• Inform your supervisor and anyone close to the area of the fire.
• Use a fire extinguisher (powder or halide type) to fight the fire.
In s small room or section, there is the danger or asphyxiation from the fire
extinguishing material, so be careful to avoid this.
In this case of electrical fires, always cut off the power supply first.
Take a good look around and think before working. Then work fasts to stop the
spreading of the fire.
!
CAUTION
See the operating instructions of the particular breaker for correct maintenance, inspection,
and replacement procedures.
For some types and mounting configurations, the entire switchgear must be source cut off
to perform the work for [Fixed type].
For others, only a restricted area of the switchgear must be cut off for [Draw-out type].
DANGER
Circuit Breaker Operation
• Before operating circuit breakers switches, confirm the following to avoid putting
others in danger.
- There will be no problems if any or all devices in the circuit receive power.
- There are no other workers working on the same circuit.
If there are other workers working on the same circuit, inform them of what breaker or switch
you will be operating and advise their caution.
- The protective devices (protective relay, fuses, etc.) of all circuit are in order.
• Operate breakers and switches in the following manner.
- Perform all operations with the right hand.
Except for operations requiring both hands, keep the left hand back and away from the breaker
or switch.
- Operate knife switch and the like with one quick motion.
DANGER
Protective Relay
See the operating instructions of the particular relay for correct maintenance, inspection,
and replacement procedures.
Before emerging the equipment it must be earthed using the protective earth terminal.
DANGER
CT & PT Operation
Do not open the secondary side of a current transformer.
If the secondary side must be opened for repair work, do not leave it opened: high voltage
could be produced in the secondary side current flows through the primary side.
Periodically check the connections of the secondary side for tightness.
DANGER
Changing Fuses
• Changing fuses
- When removing a fuse, unscrew the fuse cap carefully.
- While inserting the fuse into the fuse clip, do not allow the conductive part of the fuse to touch
the between adjacent fuse clip and this fuse clip.
- Otherwise, a short-circuit accident could result!
- When changing a fuse, do not make contact with nearby charged devices or with any other live
part, (i.e. bus-line etc.).
- Otherwise, electric shock could result!
7.1.9 Precautions for Changing Relays (auxiliary relays, time limit relays, etc.)
!
CAUTION
Changing Relays
• Changing the relay
- Remove the power supply miniature circuit breaker (MCB) or fuse for the circuit containing the
relay to cut off the voltage to the circuit.
- For a starter control circuit, set the MCCB for the starter circuit power supply to OFF.
- Change the repay.
!
CAUTION
Other Precautions
• Keep front doors and back covers or doors closed except when it is necessary to open
them.
• Immobilize the moving parts by fastening or door stopper of front doors or relay
racks and rear cover or door of the Switchgear & MCC while electrical work is being
done.

If they must be removed, be sure to return them to their proper positions.
• Do not leave any tools or work materials on or around the switchboard or starter
panel after work has been completed.
• Always discharge capacitors before working on capacitor circuits.
The symptoms are listed in order from mild to most serious case
- Breathing stops.
- Normal breathing can usually be restored after continuing artificial respiration for a short while.
- Breathing stops, face is pallid, and pulse is very weak or undetectable.
- Totally unconscious.
In the worst of cases, the body of the victim may become rigid within two or three minutes after
the shock.
DANGER
• Never assume there is no voltage applied to the circuit until the voltage has been
confirmed (measured).
• Always cut off the power supply and confirm that there is no voltage applied to the
circuit before any electrical work is done. Most accidents occur because the power is
mistakenly assumed to be off.
• Always use rubber gloves, rubber boots, and an insulation mat when doing electrical
work.
• Tag the power supply switch when doing electrical work.
• (ex. "Do Not Turn on Power: Maintenance Work")
• If someone turns on the power while maintenance work is being done, and accident
could occur.
• Operate switches with the right hand while holding the left hand back and always
from the body.
• Station people in such strategic places as near the switchboard in order cut off the
power immediately if an accident occurs.
8 MAINTENANCE
8.1 General
Maintenance serves to preserve trouble-free operation and achieve the longest possible
working life of the Switchgear & MCC. It comprises the following closely related
activities:
Note:
When carrying out all maintenance work, the regulations in the country of installation must
be strictly complied with.
The inspection and servicing intervals for some of the equipment/components (e.g. parts
subjects to wear) are determined by fixed criteria, such as switching frequency, length of
service and number of short-circuit breaking operations. On the other hand, for other parts
the length of the intervals may depend, for example, on the different modes of operation in
individual cases, the degree of loading, and also environmental influences (including
pollution and aggressive air).
※ Caution!
Instrument transformer circuit.
• With regard to the switching devices, their separate Instruction manual should be
followed.
• Check all Switchgear & MCC accessories and auxiliary devices (e.g. storage
batteries).
• No partial discharge must occur on the surfaces of equipment at operating voltage.
This can, for example, be detected by characteristic noises, a clearly perceptible
smell of ozone, or visible glowing in the dark.
• Visually checking the contact system. We recommend to turn the contact system
alternately in order to clean the inner contact points of the contact system.
The contact points should be cleaned if signs of overheating (discoloured surface)
are visible.
• If any irregular conditions are detected, then relative repair measures must be
taken.

ZSI - Zone Selective Interlocking (A, P, S type)
Zone-selective interlocking drops delay time that eliminates faults for breakers.
It minimizes the shock that all kinds of electric machineries get under
fault conditions.
1. In case of that short time-delay or ground fault accident occurs at ZSI built in system,
the breaker at accident site sends ZSI signal to halt upstream breaker’s operation.
2. To eliminate a breakdown, trip relay of ACB at accident site activates trip operation
without time delay.
3. The upstream breaker that received ZSI signal adhere to pre-set short time-delay or
ground fault time-delay for protective coordination in the system.
However upstream breaker that did not receive its signal will trip instantaneously.
4. For ordinary ZSI operation, it should arrange operation time accordingly so that downstream
circuit breakers will react before upstream ones under overcurrent/short time delay/
ground fault situations.
5. ZSI connecting line needs to be Max. 3m.

Temperature derating
The table below indicates the maximum current rating, for each connection type,
as a function of the ambient temperature around the circuit breaker and the busbars.
Circuit breakers with mixed connections have the same derating as horizontally connected breakers.
For ambient temperatures greater than 60°C, consult us.

Operating conditions
Ambient temperature
ACB devices can operate under the following temperature conditions
- The electrical and mechanical characteristics are stipulated for an ambient temperature of -5°C to +40°C
- The average temperature should be within + 35°C
- Reduce the continuous conducting current when the temperature is over 45°C (refer to temperature derating)
- Storage condition : -20°C to + 60°C is recommended.
Altitude
Susol ACB is designed for operation at altitudes under 2000m. At altitudes higher than 2000m,
emitting heat is lowered and operating voltage, continuous current capacity, and breaking capacity
will be reduced. Durability of the insulation is also reduced according to the atmosphere pressure.
According to the below table, change the ratings upon a service condition.

CE conformity marking
The CE conformity marking shall indicate conformity to all the obligations imposed on the
manufacturer, as regards his products, by virtue of the European Community directives providing
for the affixing of the CE marking.
When the CE marking is affixed on a product, it represents a declaration of the manufacturer or of
his authorized representative that the product in question conforms to all the applicable provisions
including the conformity assessment procedures. This prevents the Member States from limiting
the marketing and putting into service of products bearing the CE marking, unless this measure is
justified by the proved non-conformity of the product.
IECEE CB SCHEME
The IECEE CB Scheme is the world's first truly international system for acceptance of test reports
dealing with the safety of electrical and electronic products. It is a multilateral agreement among
participating countries and certification organizations. A manufacturer utilizing a CB test report
issued by one of these organizations can obtain national certification in all other member countries
of the CB Scheme.
The Scheme is based on the use of international (IEC) Standards. If some members' national
standards are not yet completely harmonized with IEC Standards, national differences are
permitted if clearly declared to all other members. The CB Scheme utilizes CB Test Certificates to
attest that product samples have successfully passed the appropriate tests and are in compliance
with the requirements of the relevant IEC Standard and with the declared national differences of
various member countries.
The main objective of the Scheme, is to facilitate trade by promoting harmonization of the national
standards with international Standards and cooperation among product certifiers worldwide in order
to bring product manufacturers a step closer to the ideal concept of "one product, one test, one
mark, where applicable'.

RoHS compliance
What is RoHS?
The RoHS is an EU Directive that specifically identifies six
key materiala so that manufacturers are held
responsible for Ensuring that their products contain
controlled concentration of the six substances
restricted by the Diretive.
Application
Products manufactured by LSIS do not directly apply
to the RoHS Directive.
However, small inverters imbedded in sport equipment
and small breakers in large home appliances can be
indirectly applied to the Directive.

Technical information
Coil characteristics
Operating limits
When the operating coil is in the energized state an operating tolerance of between 85~110% of the coil’s rated voltage is permitted,
at temperatures up to 40℃ at standard operating frequency. Operation out with the above may cause deterioration to electrical
insulation and mechanical operation.
Selections of coil
In GMC-9~85 contactors, 50Hz coil and 60Hz coil are separated.
But in GMC-100~800 contactors, the coils are AC/DC common use. (under DC 220V)
