WALK-IN-INTERVIEW NOTIFICATION
Subject:Recruitment for the posts of Assistant Professors, Senior Residents and
Casualty Medical Officers for Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalaburagi(including
Trauma Care Center) under Local cadre (Kalyan Karnataka region).
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts i.e.,
Assistant Professor, Senior Residents and Casualty Medical Officers for Gulbarga
Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalaburagi (including Trauma Care Center). Candidates are
advised to fill the application in the prescribed form and submit on or before 27-10-2023
5.00 PM to the office of the Director, Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalaburagi
either inperson or through “Registered post”. The post and Department for which the
candidate is applying must be written boldly on the cover in BLOCK LETTERS.
Application received after specified date and time will not be considered.
Candidates appearing for the interview shall report to the office between 8.30 am to
11.00am on the day of interviewon 02-11-2023 to get their original documents / credentials
verified and to appear before the selection committee along with original documents and
2 sets of photocopies duly attested by gazetted officer, with 2 recent passport size
photographs. Candidates are required to submit the application along with necessary

4. PAY SCALE :
i. For Assistant Professors: Pay scales as prescribed by the Government of Karnataka for
Government Grant in aid autonomous institutions in Karnataka.
ii. Senior Residents: Pay scales as prescribed by the Government of Karnataka.
Consolidated salary of Rs 60000/- per month.
iii. Casualty Medical Officer: Consolidated salary of Rs 60000/- per month.
5. AGE LIMIT:-
i. For Assistant ProfessorMaximum 35 years for GM, 38 years for OBC & 40 years for
SC/ST. For In-service candidates relaxation of maximum age shall be as specified in Rule
6 of General Recruitment Rules 1997.
ii. For Senior Residents- Maximum 35 years for GM, 38 years for OBC &40 years for
SC/ST.
iii. For CMO: - Maximum 35 years for GM, 38 years for OBC &40 years for SC/ST.
6. METHOD OF SELECTION:
I) Criteria for drawing up the merit list for Assistant Professor to be short listed
for the interview.
a. Number of publications in National /Indexed Journal above the stipulated number
specified for the post by the NMC -0.5 mark for each paper subject to a maximum of 2
marks.
b. Number of publications in International Journals-01mark for each paper subject to a
maximum of 2 marks.
c. WHO Fellowship in the same subject /University Gold Medal-1 mark.

d. Higher experience than required for the post -0.5 mark for each year to maximum of 2
marks.
e. Presentation of paper/lectures in State/ National /International Conference 0.5 mark
for each paper subject to a maximum of 2 marks.
f. Personality/ presentation in the interview-6marks.
II) Criteria for drawing up the merit list for Senior Resident to be short listed for the
interview.
The merit list shall be prepared by adding 85% of the aggregate marks obtained in the
qualifying examination & the marks obtained in the interview conducted by the selection
committee. The maximum marks in the interview shall be fifteen (15) & shall be
distributed as follows:
a) Post graduate degree / diploma in the concerned subject- 5 marks.
b) Number of publications in International/ National / Indexed Journal above the
stipulated number specified for the post by the MCI -1/2 mark for each paper subject
to a maximum of 2 marks.
c) Presentation of paper / lectures in State/ National International Conference ½
mark for each paper subject to a maximum of 2 marks.
d) Personality presentation in the interview-6 marks
III) Criteria for drawing up the merit list for CMO to be short listed for the
interview.
a. Postgraduate Degree in clinical specialties - 2 marks
b. Experience in the same job in a Medical college/500 bedded hospital (01 mark per
year maximum of 3 marks) - 3 marks.
c. Extracurricular Activities like sports /cultural /literature / Medal obtained in
District, state, National, National level -02 marks.
d. NCC or NSS Grade certificate -02 mark.
e. Personality/ presentation in the interview-6 marks
7. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
A. Should be a Citizen of India.
B. No man who has more than one wife living and no woman who has married a man
already having another wife, shall be eligible for appointment.
C. Candidate should be a physically & mentally fit to discharge the duties.
8. CERTIFICATE FOR CASTE RESERVATION:
Candidates claiming reservation shall produce caste certificates i.e., SC/ST in Form No. D,
Cat.-I in Form No. E , Cat IIA, IIB, IIIA, Form No. F and shall be valid as per rules.

9. RURAL CANDIDATE AND KANNADA MEDIUM:

a. Candidates who have studied and passed from 1st std to 10th std in the rural areas
specified in the existing rules are eligible for claiming rural reservation.
b. Shall produce valid Rural Reservation Certificate / Kannada Medium Certificate issued
by BEO, necessarily countersigned by DDPI of the concerned jurisdiction, in the
prescribed Form No.2 as per Govt. Order No. ¹D¸ÀÄE 96 ¸ÉÃ£Á¤ 2005, dated 10.08.2005.
c. Candidates belong to SC/ST, Cat-I, Cat IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB shall produce Rural Reservation
Certificate in Form No.2.
d. Candidates belong to General Merit shall produce rural reservation certificate in Form
No- 2 along with Form-1 certificate from the concerned Tahsildar.
e. If the Rural Reservation Certificate produced by the candidates belonging to SC/ST,
Cat-I, Cat IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB is rejected, then they shall become ineligible for Rural
Reservation.
f. Candidates who have studied and passed from 1st std to 10th std in Kannada Medium
specified in the existing rules are eligible for claiming Kannada reservation.
10. PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED & EX SERVICEMEN:
Candidate shall produce certificate of disability from the appropriate authority as per
rules.
The candidate shall produce certificate of Ex- Serviceman from the appropriate authority
as perrules.
11. The Candidates who have passed Kannada language exam as first/second language in
the SSLC or equivalent exam shall be exempted from Kannada language test.Kannada
language test will be conducted for 150 marks as per rules prescribed in this regard. If
the candidate fails to pass the Kannada language test he/she shall not be eligible for
interview.
The time of Kannada exam is 8.30am on interview day. All candidates taking Kannada
exam shall report by 8.00 am failing which they shall not be considered for the interview.
13. The Candidates who are employed in the Government / Government organizations
shall take action as indicated in the amendment issued to the General Recruitment rules
in this regard. While inrespect of candidates working in other medical colleges shall
produce NOC & route applications through competent authority.
14. The Candidate claiming prior experience for the weightage should compulsorily
produce the Original Salary Certificate, Experience Certificate& Copy of Form No. 16
issued by Director / Principal of the Concern Medical College/Institution.

15. The Candidates who are black listed by MCI/KMC and any criminal case
pending/debarred candidates / dismissed from service shall not be eligible.
16. Reservation for Kalyan Karnataka region local persons:
The candidates belonging to Kalyan Karnataka region shall be regarded as local persons
if he/she produces eligibility certificate issued by Jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner,
Revenue sub division as specified in the Govt Order no DPAR 43 HKC 2013 dt 29/01/2014
17. The candidates who are appearing for interview shall have original documents and 2
sets of documents duly attested by gazetted officer at the time of interview.
18. Appointing Authority / Interview committee shall have the right to accept or reject the
appointments of any candidate. Selection Committee has got a full power to
decrease/increase the number of posts. The appointment shall be made purely based on
merit cum reservation roster as per the order of Government of Karnataka.
19. MISCONDUCT:
A candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated documents or
documents which have been tampered with or making statements which are incorrect or
false or of suppressing material information or of using or attempting to use unfair
means for purposes of recruitment or otherwise resorting to any other irregular or
improper means in connection with his recruitment, may in addition to rendering himself
liable to criminal prosecution & disciplinary action, also be debarred either permanently
or for a specified period or improper means in
connection with his appointment shall make him / her ineligible.
