First Person Bio:

Hi, my name is Lillian Hernandez and I love to create brands that resonate and connect with
their target audiences. I was always dabbling in “creative” things, from sketching portraits in
high school to diving head first into Photoshop, before Photoshop was even a “thing”.

During my time at Johnsons Institute for Design in New York City, I managed to snag several top
design awards including one for best branding project and a top team award for our final
product design competition.

From Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and now even new programs like Adobe
Dimensions and Xd, I am constantly working at developing new skills in the latest software to
help clients achieve a modern sophisticated look in both digital and print realms.

As a previous career in software engineering I led a team of 20 other software engineers in

developing a new tool that speeds up workflow in the automobile manufacturing space. I feel
my experience leading large teams is invaluable to managing larger branding and design
projects.
I would love to talk to your team about how I can apply my varied creative skillets to your
upcoming projects. Take a look at the following three highlighted projects from my time at
Johnsons Institute for Design in New York City.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION #1
Title: Elemental – Logo Development, Brand Creation and Extension.
Headline: “Working with Lillian has been a pure joy. She understood our vision and ideas so
quickly and executed a fantastic looking final project”

Description: Elemental is a new high-end lotion brand that came to me needing an entirely
new logo design and brand look.

I sat down with the team and extensively discussed their goals, target audience and developed
a timeline for the entire project.

After many discussions, we decided to create a classy brand that would connect and resonate
with higher end clientele, to match the higher than average product price.

I highlighted the lotion’s unique characteristics by accentuating the metallic color palette by
creating custom textures that emulated the lotions look when seen on skin.

Elemental had three total products that all needed a branded package design. I developed the
Elemental package design with the table of elements in mind by creating a logo for each
product that emulated the elements. The back maintained a simple yet clean scientific styling.

This idea continuing to develop as I applied a bold, simple and clean styling to the logo design,
offering a flexible logo and brand assets.

We expanded this look onto various magazine print ads and Facebook social media campaign.
The social media campaign was high targeted so the need for a focus on one lotion product was
necessarily, so I created a 3D metallic shape to complement each lotion type to give each one a
unique characteristic.

I helped the team explain this to companywide stationary and various promotional items like T-
shirts for use by employees in pop up stores.

A website layout and design were also needed to compliment and match the newly developed
brand look. I created a layout using Adobe Xd and was then able to work with the web
developer to make this a working website before the final product launch.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION #2
Title: Chocolate Bar Wrapper Design (Personal Project)
Description: I have always had a love and passion for all thing’s chocolate. For this design
project for my course thesis, I decided to create something I have always dreamed of, a
chocolate bar wrapper design.

I was inspired by artistic drawings from the 1800’s so I found open source illustrations I could
adapt to the chocolate bars for my theme. I wanted this to be an expensive single origin
chocolate bar, so I wanted the design to have fine details and custom pattern work.
