Read the story.

Carla Jensen was a 19-year-old young woman from Denmark who worked as a servant. She traveled
with her brother, uncle, and fiancé. They didn’t have much money, so they traveled third class. They
wanted to live in the U.S., but only Carla survived. Her family put her into the lifeboat because women
went first. After the accident, she returned to Denmark and never left her country again.
