TITLE: Be Strong

TEXT : Ephesians 6 : 10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Introduction :

Author : The author of the book of Ephesians as the Apostle Pual.

Date of Writing : A.D. 60- 63.

Purpose of writing :. Paul, writing from a Roman prison, intended that all who long for
Christlike maturity would receive this writing. Enclosed within the Book of Ephesians is the
discipline needed to develop into true children of God. Furthermore, a study in Ephesians
will help to fortify and to establish the believer so he can fulfill the purpose and calling God
has given. The aim of this epistle is to confirm and to equip a maturing church. It presents a
balanced view of the body of Christ and its importance in God’s economy.

A. A command from Paul for us All : Be Strong !

Us - ALL BELIEVERS

1. We need to be strong because of our adversaries

Mean: our enemies (vv. 11-12)

2. We need to be strong because of our testimonies

B. Finally- A word that looks Backward and Forward


C. Considering these important words : Be Strong

Body:

I. Be strong! These are Military word


"What are the characteristics of a military "

1. Loyalty 2. Duty
3. Respect 6. Honor
4. Selfless 7. Integrity
5. Service 8. Personal courage

A. Every believer is enlisted in a Battle

(Mean: all christian believers)

B. Paul is about to reveal the enemy ( vv. 11-12)

1. For we facing a powerful enemy with many allies

2. Then we must stay strong in the battle

C. On what areas do we need to be strong

1. Strong in Character (v. 14)

Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your
waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

What does it mean when we say STAND FIRM ?

" Refuse to Change their mind about something"

2. Strong in Faith (v. 16)


Ephesians 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you
can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

What does it mean when we say SHIELD OF FAITH?

" Our faith can guard us during trails "

3. Stroy in Bible knowledge (v.17)


Ephesians 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
II . Be Strong! These can be mocking words
What is mocking words ?
" Abusing vocally ; expressing contempt or ridicule "
1. Something good words arr meaningless
2. Perhaps these good words mock you today
a. You feel especially weak
b. Your trials have you on the ropes
c. Temptation has edged you to a precipice
d. You wonder if you can go on
3. You've tried to be strong
a. Intended to clean up your language
b. Tried to control your temper
c. Made an effort to stop worrying
d. Resolved to stop wounding with your tongue
e. Decided to maintain a devotional life
4. You keep failing over and over again
III. Be strong ! The words That Follow make these Miraculous Words
1 " Be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might"
2. Some battles are too extreme for us
3. Some adversaries are too strong for us
4. We have a powerful Savior ( Matthew 28:18)
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me.
a. This Change the picture
b. We can exchange our weakness for His strength (Isaiah 40:31)

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
c. We cna do all things through Christ ( Philippians 4:13)
Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Conclusion :

A. Our Crucified and Living Lord the Victory

1 John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that
has overcome the world, even our faith.a. He invites all defeated ones to come to
him -

Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will
give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

b. Trusting Him we are sure to overcome

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
who loved us.
B. Faith overcomes the World ( 1 John 5: 4)

1 John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory
that has overcome the world, even our faith.
