BACKGROUND RESEARCH DESIGN

Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has a variety of cultures, customs and languages. One of
them is that the residents of Central Java and Yogyakarta have a daily language, namely
Javanese. Language is the most important factor in communicating for people who want to visit
Java. Foreign tourists who visit Central Java or Yogyakarta find it difficult to communicate and
interact with local residents and vice versa.

Therefore, in this era of digitalization, there is an necessary to create a translator application from
English to Javanese, making it easier for tourists when visiting Central Java and Yogyakarta. hat GPT
Hopefully, the translator application that will be called Jatra (Javanese Translator) can help boost ,Chat GPT
the tourism sector. Foreign tourists and local Javanese can interact easier that attract more
tourists to come to Java region.

PURPOSE
Researchers want to make an application that can be used by foreign tourists to understand
RESEARCH PROCESS
Javanese and local Javanese people who only know Javanese to communicate with foreign
tourists.

TOOLS AND MATERIAL

Personal Computer with a Core I3, 8 GB, 256 GB HDD, Internet Connection, APP Inventor, Android
Smartphone.

AIM HOW IT WORKS?

Foreign tourist and local Javanese people who are having trouble to communicate to each other
especially in tourism area.
1. Scan the barcode or link connected to the Jatra Application.
2. Download the application and install it in your mobile phone.
3. Open the Jatra Application.
4. Type the word or sentence that you want to translate into Javanese and vice versa.
5. Click the result button to get the translation result

Translation
Translation is the interpretation of the linguistic meaning of text from the source language to
produce an equivalent text in the target language that communicates a similar message. The
person who translates is called a translator

Chat GPT
GPT Chat is an AI chatbot in the form of a generative language model that uses transformer
technology to predict the probability of the next sentence or word in a conversation or text
command. RESULT & ANALYZE
APP INVENTOR
MIT App Inventor is a user-friendly, block-based visual programming language created by Google

and now managed by MIT. It enables beginners to build Android and iOS apps. The web interface
is similar to Scratch, letting users drag-and-drop objects to create apps, test them on devices, and
compile them for Android. It has a mobile app for live testing and debugging.

GOOGLE FORM
Google form is an application provided by Google for survey administrative work which is
incorporated into Google Drive applications such as Google Doc, Spreadsheet, and Slides.
Currently, Google Forms has many benefits for completing various forms of work, such as
creating questionnaires, exam questions, polls, registration forms, attendance and many others.

RESEARCH METHOD ANALYZE

Method : SUS ( System Usability Scale )

Time : August - September 2023
Place : Semarang

This application has been tested on 12 people by random sampling from several people in the city
of Semarang. The results of the trial, the application are running well. The result of sus score is
81,875. Based on the scale, The Jatra Application an excellent on the chart or acceptable to use.

translation result.
