Important Model 848T Installation

Considerations
SPARE SWITCH The Model 848T has three switches (see Figure 1-1) that are labeled:
• SIMULATE ENABLE
• SECURITY
• SPARE
The default setting for all switches is “OFF.” Please refer to the product
manual (document number 00809-0100-4697) for more information about the
SIMULATE ENABLE and SECURITY SWITCH.
The SPARE switch is only used for product engineering and development
purposes and should always remain in the “OFF” position. If the switch is
turned to the “ON” position and power is applied, the Model 848T will not be
present on the Fieldbus segment.
