Interview Questions for Current Engineers

General:

What do you do day to day? What projects have you worked on? What jobs have you enjoyed? What
work have you disliked doing? What do you enjoy about your current job? What do you dread? Do you
travel often? What are your responsibilities? What is your impact on the final product produced?

Who have you worked with? What other types of people do you interact with often? What
interdisciplinary connections have you made?

What has changed since you started, in technology, policies, programs, environmental interests, climate
change, etc.? What changes do you like? Dislike?

What did you study at school? What led you to this program? Why did you choose it over other options?

How did you end up where you are today? What steps and jobs were involved? Would you have ever
considered any other paths? Do you ever feel like you’ve ended up somewhere unexpected? What did
you expect? What was unexpected?

What topics do you consider interesting? Which would you point out to me?

Would you have any recommendations to give me? Classes to focus on, graduate school advice, etc.
What’s needed by the industry at large?
