Having within reach a glossary with terminology used in the professional nursing career will be of vital
importance for undergraduate students at the university since it will provide us with extra knowledge, in
addition to knowing these terms in our mother tongue, here we emphasize that
The English language is one of the most used languages worldwide, for this reason it is essential that we
all know some basic terms in English.
The glossary was prepared to publicize the most used terms in nursing, everything that will be
announced below is duly translated in both English and Spanish, in addition to identifying the
grammatical category, its phonetics, the meaning, definition, example and a referential image.

Definition: Addiction, inordinate fondness for something. A word used to describe the
fixation and liking for certain drugs1.

now share with you, dear readers. As a nursing student, I feel enormous pride in my

fundamental purpose is to take care of the most precious asset of the human being: their
health. It is through nursing and health areas that we continue to exist and seek to
