A MAN GOES FOR A RUN TO CLEAR HIS THOUGHTS.

HE HAS A SUBVOCAL
CONVERSATION IN HIS MIND, A KIND OF DEVIL ON MY LEFT SHOULDER ANGEL
ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER SCENARIO.

EXT. PARK - SUNSET

HE JOGS.

ALAN WALTS(V.O)

The same is true for people who think all the time. That means when I say the word think, talking
to yourself, subvocal conversation, the constant chit chat of symbols, and images, talk and words
inside your skull.

CUT TO: EXT. PARK (APPROACHING BENCH) - ALMOST NIGHT

HE APPORACHES AND SITS ON THE BENCH.

HE TAKES OUT HIS PHONE, TYPES SOMETHING AND THEN HESITATES. THEN HE
DELETES IT.

SUBVOCAL CONVO STARTS:

You’re doing it again.

What?

"I’m fine." "it's my problem, don't want to burden others."

And what is wrong with that?

That’s just you hiding behind the mask of self-sufficiency; that you can and should handle
everything alone.

It’s, you know, like scary since you have no control of the thoughts or actions others;
But that’s how it is; it’s just you and your pride

Feels more like self-protection

But that isolates and weakens you

Well, I’d rather self-inflict than the latter ... okay that's

enough

PUTS THE HEADPHONE ON TO BLOCK THE NOISE IN HIS HEAD

1
MUSIC PLAYS. VOLUME DROPS

Moments like this; feels like there's nobody in the world.

(chuckles)Or perhaps you're nobody's world.

deaaadd

How’s that for self-inflicting?

fuck off

SMILES

All right, let's reset and go again.

GETS UP, STRETCHES AND CONTINUE HIS RUN
