What is Energy?

Energy is the ability to do work.

There are two states of energy:

Potential energy or energy at rest. Kinetic energy or energy in motion

Learning outcomes:

Differentiate the
different types of energy
Understand the process
of energy transfer
Provide real-life
examples of energy
transfer
The Law of Conservation of Energy

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed.

It can be transferred to another object or

converted into a different form.

The amount of energy stays the same.

Basic Forms of Energy

Energy comes in six basic forms, and these can be combined to create other
forms of energy.

Energy Transformation

the process that converts energy from one type to another

How does energy transfer
happen around us?

Create a poster showing the energy transfer process you

observed at home, school, or any place you went to.
Recap:

Energy is neither created nor destroyed but can be transferred

from object to object through various means. This energy can be
harnessed to generate motion and fulfill work.
