Design of supply chain networks

Supply chain logistics

U have partners

Entities

Never single

From the supply of supplier to the customer of the customer

Gtoup work

To identify

Non constraints

To rebalance

Customer is waiting patiently

Supplier producer

Distributer

No constraints

Customer is waiting patiently

You have

Identify ; supplier requirements

Producer

Distributer

= to offer a sustainable supply chain

Customer Service level= nub of deliveries on time

Part 2 Competing with operations ( materials managements)

Nesting process ; boucle de production , all tasks are identified as necessary tasks,
Diff between Service and manufacturing :

Manuf , no direct contact by customers

Service : direct contact with customers

Automation , robots , more in manufacturing , service is entering manufacturing

FOUR GLOBAL STRATEGIES :

Global; produce same product world wide , centralised

Transnational: Coca-Cola , value of the company growth to the world , bring your values , of your
country , looking for autonomy

Multidomestic: business model is the same but …. McDonald’s

INTERNATIONAL : They need to have partnerships, franchises in countries of destination to develop

sales …

Low cost doesn’t always mean low quality

Measuring performance
Productivity = output/INPUT

MULTIFACTOR productivity = quantity at standard cost/( labor cost + Materials cost + overhead cost
(frais genereux))

Ex:

Produced 240 crates per 100 log

Purchases 100 logs/day = 240 crates

Each log : 3 labor-hours to process

Goal : 260 Crates / 100 LOGS

LABOR HOURS INCREASE BY 8 hours / day

a- 240 CRATES /(100 LOGS *3H/ logs) =0,8 crates per labour hour
b- 260 crates/( (100*3) + 8h)( = 0,844

= 0?844-0,8 /0,8 *(100) =+5,5%

MULTIFACTOR productivity = quantity at standard cost/( labor cost + Materials cost + overhead cost
(frais genereux))
240/300h *10USD=3000

+Materials logs = 1000

+CAPITAL= 350

+ENERGY= 150

= 4500 usd

260 CRATES

3080

+1000

+350

+150

= 4580 usd

MP= 260/4500 = 0,0533 MP=260/4580 = 0,0568

==< 0,0568/0,0533 = 6,6%

18 /T +3

Plan 4700 T 8 weks

Labor costs 110000usd

Material 1,30 usd for each passage

Overhead 79000 usd

MULTIFACTOR productivity = quantity at standard cost/( labor cost + Materials cost + overhead cost
(frais genereux))

MP=4700 *(18+3)/ (110000 + 1,30*4700 +79000)

=0,51

100 usd / SEMESTER CREDIT HOUR

3 credit course CLASS = 50 STUDENTS

MULTIFACTOR productivity = quantity at standard cost/( labor cost + Materials cost + overhead cost
(frais genereux))
= 100*3*2*50/ 4000+20*50 +25000
